They aren't all that way. I think it has something to do with the studio leadership and the way they're run, with a bit of a revolving door mentality. If the model doesn't work out, another will take her place, there are plenty of college girls in Central and Eastern Europe looking to pay for a flat and shopping expenses. Most of these girls do this begrudgedly because a good day with privates is really a good source of income for a college girl with no other real job skills, and the money a girl can make in a day is comparable to a week's work elsewhere. Only they don't have so many good days, and those models who hoped for a steady income from this find it's not such great in the long run either. And having spent so many years in the Slavic half of Europe, I can tell you "the customer is always right" has never been, nor will it ever be, the motto There's no need to put on such a show of interest when the customers usually don't pay anyway. I think they see the bottom line that there could be less than 30 mins of privates most shifts, whether they do anything or the minimum of just showing legs and waiting for the curious guy to come in for 5 or 10.
Basically look at the amount the girls bring home.. and now go to McDonald's and order something and tell me honestly how good the service was. Was the fat girl at the counter ready to take your order or did she make you wait while asking Jamaal on fries about something her friends said at school? Now, considering the cost of living, take what these kids at McDonald's are making each day, cut it down by about a third, and you've got the take-home pay of a Central/Eastern Europe cam model. So if your disinterested 17 year old at the McDonald's counter isn't interested in asking if you'd like fries with that and offering a sincere hope that you enjoy your mayonaisse smoothered Big 'n Tasty with limp saturated potato-esque slivers at his pay rate, that pretty 19 year old in Brno or Wroclaw isn't going to care very much if you want tits and a smile with those legs. She's not making much, nor will she while she's working here. But she is working, and she's getting some privates. She's getting paid, even if it's just the scraps of our US$5.99 a minute privates that she may see between $1-1.50 a minute.
Now the North American models are a different story, the studios can't keep models if the rates are so low, and I'm pretty sure the models in the US and Canada would bring in more than $300-$400 a week to justify working here, as that's comparable to the lowest paying jobs. Plus, this may be a working job for them, but the work is understood as being some sort of sexy vixen or playful kitten for horny men to get into privates and make money. There is more play, more fantasy, more of the dance to go through to get the results (and it does appear to work). Again, I'm sure the models in Europe know this, but with such low rates and so few privates, it's a lot of degrading oneself over an eight hour shift when that model will still probably, on a good week with lots of long privates, wouldn't walk away with more than $100-$200 anyway. The situation could perk up if the newer models weren't disenfranchised by the older models with a poor outlook, but I think those models would develop a similar outlook anyway with such a rate and enough days filled with false promises and long hours worked with little to no returns. Having administrators from f4f going into model's rooms as greys, or even VIP's, might be an interesting experiment. They could then find out what is really happening, and they might even institute some good quality control on both sides of the screen. Quote

This is strictly a sales job and the fact that they aren't paid even a minimum for sitting on a camera to chat, entertain, flirt with and be hospitable to the guests means they aren't required to do these things. Even if our work performance is poor, we're paid for showing up at our jobs. True we would eventually be the first to be sacked or laid off, but we'd get paid all the same. got some sympathy with your story which does sound a bit harsh, and am aware of the explanations given by our friend in Prague, having spent some time in CZ myself, just wanted to take issue with the line above
i dont think they are prima donnas or bitchy, personally i think tehre are two reasons only
1. language....english is often a second, third or even 4th language for these girls and they get tired much faster than the models who use it all the time. you'd be amazed how difficult it is to think and speak and type when not using your native tongue. often a model, particularly an inexperienced or less confident one will struggle to follow all lines of conversation, and will, inevitably, miss some potential privates because they are focussing on the wrong guys. its happened to me a lot. plus when N.USA girls get requests in open , its easy for them to defuse the situation, give an explanation etc coz its their first language
2. taken for granted? ....talking to some of the models from E.E. they do feel under pressure to perform by their studios and also by the customers. a "free show" to a model from CZ or SK rarely leads to a pvt, so they dont do them and they get sick of being asked 25 times and hour. i notice they get asked proportionally more than the N.USA girls do (i have no facts and figures, this is just based on my viewing experience). and they do end up feeling as though they are dispensible (the "revolving door policy" above) Most tend to leave when they just get sick of all of us or the studios !!
ultimately, it isnt something any of them have ever said to me "i want to do this forever". they all have an exit policy; only the most popular models find it hard to leave because they can earn considerably more money than thier peers outside of F4F.

There are some very good E. European models who know how to play the game and seem to do quite well. I would say that for example; Jennelle from Poland or Nikyta from Slovakia are as good as any of the North American models.

The problem with beggars has always been worse in the European rooms due to the lack of studio monitors. American and Canadian studios always used to employ their own monitors, who could keep the begging down to a more tolerable level.

If anyone remembers Carissa Paige, you'll know that you can get cranky American models too. She could be incredibly cranky, but in some ways that was part of her appeal.

Language may be an issue, but it is also true that not eveyone is cut out to be a model. The root of that problem is studios... perhaps if they invested a little bit of time and money in training and making sure that the girls they recruit are up to the job, they would be repayed many times over by having successful models.

It may be hard for some of the girls to feel motivated into 'working' the room with such low pay and lack of support from the studios but if you are payed on commision only (as they are) it doesn't matter if you get 10% or 100% if you don't sell anything you still get nothing.

If models got paid for just being in the room would they be more motivated? I don't know. Who would pay for it? I don't see many customers prepared to pay more, so it would either have to come from VS or the studios. VS would probably say that it's not their problem as the models aren't directly employed by them. If the studios had to pay girls for just lying there, you can bet that they would put more pressure on the models to make money to cover the costs. Quote

also i agree with neutrino, its not fair to generalise, cranky models are not necessarily always european models, maybe they are more prone to it as it has always seemed like they are not treated as well by their studios as maybe the american and canadians are, so they probably feel pissed sometimes and like with us all it can affect your job at times if its supposed to or not,
