We have been seeing a lot of "Special Weekends" or competitions lately. In my time of coming to this site it is a whole lot more than I have ever seen before. My only idea for this is Flirt's revenues are down and they think this will improve them. They may be right, but I think if they were to reward the members the revenues would naturally increase. Here is but one of the many ideas I have, once a week Flirt picks from a lottery of privates that are over 10 minutes and one or two members win 1,800 credits. I believe this would increase the flow and not just a 60 second gig to get into the drawing. I am sure this idea has some flaws and I am sure there are other ideas, but this idea of a competition can have the effect of the models "pushing" the limits to get the last little time to beat the others.
So I wonder what anyone else thinks, or even what flirt thinks. :twocents

I like the fact that models may get more privates, but if it makes them push themselves too far,that is no good for them. Some of us actually do care about the health of the models. And truth be told, most of the cash does not go to the models anyway. If the models received more tips when taken pvt, they can earn the amount of the prizes with out over working :winkwink

Ok I wrote a big long thing about why I do not like the promotion days.. but I will just leave it at that LOL..

I am AGAINST "special" weekends! my opinion

Maybe "special" 1st of the month...

And Gmann, <3 -- but I do not think tips are applied to whether or not model wins contest or not. Tips are tips and separate from credits earned to improve her rank. Of course i do not think anyone would turn down a tip

especially if it is a study tip.. why am I here and not reading?...

I have also that studios take a good chunk of the tips too. There has to be a way so the models get a fair shake, not the smallest part of the pie. I do not come here to see the studio. :twocents

Stop these silly competitions, and just let everyone have fun. Do not make the models work 24 hours so they can say they won...for what? :twocents

They do drop the price for the contests, but I agree they should be paid more. That would make them want to compete more.
Nobody is making them compete!
I would at least like to see a pink lingerie contest once! Helloooooo! Pink Pink Pink!

True, no one "makes" any one compete, but if you thought you may be able to make more money by working longer on a given day & get a bonus... wouldn't you naturally work more that day?

About that PINK Lingerie Day... It will be a nice day because I know a certain someone who looks amazing in pink and loves the color too :winkwink

If we were hurting, I think the *last* thing we'd do is give away money for contests. I realize no matter what I say, you will still believe what you'll believe, so I will keep this short: 2009 is shaping up to be an amazing year for us.

In regards to the promotional days: based on how well they are doing, I would say that most everyone that participates in them is pleased. As always, there's no way to please everyone.

I think these promos are fun! Although models like myself who dont do VOD cant partipate in them or win the prize, it's still fun to be online when there's extra traffic and a nice discount on credits for all my friends to take advantage of.

The more anyone is online during these special days the more potential they have to meet new people because there is definately a lot more traffic during these times and that is awesome that VS does that for us! :thumbsup

Totally agree with everything said here in particular girls should not be penalised for not doing VOD especially as f4f cannot guarantee that these VOD's stay only available through their sites. A quick google search found many VOD's by different models from this site hosted on rapidshare :twocents

This is simply marketing everybody. Most promotions or sales need to be tied into some type of time frame for consumer action and accounting purposes. I understand peoples concern for the models, but these girls besides being beautiful are all very smart and savvy. I am sure they know when to stop and not hurt themselves. Not to make light of the prize money, but its not like anyone is getting rich over it. It is just a fun incentive for those girls who want to participate. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend and the beautiful ladies! :thumbsup

so why not a VOD only / no VOD special promo to give the girls who dont opt to do VOD a chance at some prize money....?

understandably the prize money winner for each contest is probably deduced using the same mathematical genius as the TOP 20, so altering the equation would be ...well we, as humankind, might not have reached the technology needed to do so...
