Flash chat Scripting error-- anyone else seeing this more recently ?

My operating system is xp pro service pack 3 with all latest updates and flash player 10.

VS chat applet V2.0.21

Its producing the above error alot more these days then it did before it causes firefox or I.E to lock up and then the chat on the chat applet becomes all one colour that you are logged in as, eg vip gold all chat and registered white.. even the greys and model chat becomes the one colour and very slow and very spaced out.

Is anyone else seeing this and if so can you all say what operating system you are on and browser and the flash version, thanks

maybe the tech department can look into it and resolve it.

the chat box thing it does while it shows the error message in screenshot before.
Example of how all the text goes one colour and becomes spaced out and copied in some cases many times over... have a feeling maybe a buffering problem in the chat applet, seems to do it more often in rooms that have alot of chat in them or if you have the room open for a long time in some cases.

This error occured to me earlier, but I was using Chrome so I think its isolated to Flash alone versus the browser you're using. I to am running XP Pro SP3. I was in a particular room for a long time and there was a lot of chat traffic when suddenly the chat wigged out like this image you posted, but I never received an error popup from your first post. I simply refreshed the chat and it seemed to clear up, but clearing the chat should have also cleared the buffer... From what I could tell the room itself, including other users, was not effected just my chat window.

Other error happens faster when I make Longer names or lots of chat . Turns all chat into white or yellow into the color I use [gold for vip or whilte for regular member log in - even model chat is same color until refresh]

Can happen as fast as every 3-4 minutes in busy rooms

Okay this error really going to drive me crazy soon, it locks up the browser too and makes it behave very slow till you either refresh the room that is causing the error or restart the whole browser.

VS is it a buffer overflow,/buffer overrun in the chat applet ? or some memory leak in it?

The chat applet does this to everyone that let lets a room run for a while and with a lot of chat.

Every pc I tried it on and browser it does it on too..

So must be the applet and not flash related ort browser.

it's a bug in flash..it doesn't like smiles so try disabling it ( not using the smiles) when in the performers room....

Sky tested that tonight and still does it mate on 4 computers I have here running different versions of windows , from xp pro, vista ultimateand Windows 7 Ultimate RTM... and 3 different browsers firefox, i.e and chrome...

So it comes down to either some strange flash player bug or the applet is the cause .. I'm going with the applet here because I don't see it causing problems on other flash based sites .

Thanks for the idea, never thought to try it without the smileys.

it appears that the flash chat version they are using is outdated.......I don't have any issues at all with the scripting errors on any of the 5 browsers I use running on xp or windows 7 but you may want to try going to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.html and clear the websites that are cached on your pc.... :bulb

Yes I had that covered too skylord, I made sure was not caching older files..

Well while on the flash player site I did notice they have a new version of flash player version 10,0,32,18 so installed that now and lets see if that helps, but have funny feeling wont. lets see

i get that too .... spaced out same colour text using vista home with flash 10 player on i.e
also get script error on page message sometimes andi got to close the window down to clear it.
if i'm asleep when that happens i got a helluva lot of boxes to close before i can close the window
10.0.12.36 version of flash i tried updating to latest flash player which i believe is 10.0.38.10 but i guess i'll need to remove the flash plyer and try again as it didn't load the latest version for me.
i get the problem both on fast connection at home and slow at work.

the chat applet version that is causing this btw is VS chat applet V2.0.21.. are you seeing same version skylord ?
