i cant get hold of my machanic...... but my motorized heated leather seat has been broken....

it iws amazing what kids can do in 5 min and under these days. i guess sitting on the back of the front seat, while sitting it all the way back past a certain point will break the thing.

nope not a fuse.it wil still go further back(even though the dvd srceen in the back of the headrest is now touching the floor of my car)

how bad of a fix could this be???

i have already popped the plastic to get to the motor that operates it. un hooked the wires and tried to by pass the switch.. wndering if hey mearly just busted the switch. but considering the grinding noise they heard. i am guessing the gears have been messed up as well.

Is it a BMW by chance? I've heard of the problem which is due to a broken gear. You can replace the gear, but you can't buy it from BMW... need to get it from a part recycler.
God I love German cars but they just don't seem to be good with electrics, electric motors or electronically driven mechanisms (window regulators, sunroof cables, power seats, tail lights, etc.).
I have to admit hearing you trying to fix the problem is a turn on to me. I love mechanically inclined chicks!
