I think I may understand the frustration, there is no way I would have the patience to do the job you models do, not with having to put up with the requests, questions, begging and other stupidity for six to eight hours at a time and then getting no private time and therefore no money for an entire day. If the begging gets really bad in a room I may interject the following: If you people think this is such an easy job, strip down to your undies and sit/lay in front of a picture window in a busy area and take the requests/comments/complaints for the length of time these models are here, and do it all for free.

Maybe a trial period where the preview is taken away, or as you suggested a "static photo" that changes occasionaly during the course of the private. Then again as you said in your post, men have been jerking off to pictures of half naked women for alot longer than internet porn has existed, if the picture shows what the observers want to see is that going to make it better or worse?

After this trial period see what the effects are, I'm thinking major defections to other sites, VIP memberships being cancelled at an alarming rate, fewer new registered users, and an overall loss of income for the site and corresponding loss of income to the models. I'm really not trying to be an idiot, but as we may not see the frustration from your end, can you see it from ours? We are paying a monthly fee and getting what? We get the preview window, for now. We get access to the archives, which haven't been updated for years, we get to reserve our nicknames(which some of the more insidious registered users have found ways to manipulate), have gold or white font, access to the forums(not exclusive anymore with the addition of the straight fantasies), access to VOD's which we have the right to pay for, the right to view our recorded shows for a 24 hour period after which we have the opportunity to pay to view them, then add in premier chat which while eliminating the grey users nonsense in free chat adds an additional charge in private. While this may seem like a lot, seems like alot less than before the advent of VIP.

Yes, I am aware the registered users also can view the preview window, but it is also included in the VIP package, along with the 24 hour view of the 100 daily random VODs and free group chat(which I understand is being reduced to 12 hours a day) which I missed in my last post. Did I forget anything else? lol.

Some sites that I have seen instead of having a live continuous feed as a preview will do random snapshot photos of the pvt in progress in 2- 5 minute increments.Should be an easy thing to implement with flash, and might satisfy models and customers alike since the potential customer can get a overview of a pvt in progress through random snapshots and models don't have to worry about 80 vips and 200 registered users jerkin the gherkin to a 3 second live feed window and vanishing when the pvt is done AND would still maintain a sense of privacy during the pvt for the models.

I agree on both sides of the argument here,which is why I think this might be a better way to do it.Obviously the snapshots could be any length of time and could stay on the screen at any length of time till the next snapshot.

I agree there should be a snapshot of the pvt and not live video. I think they pvt should only be able to be viewed by the model and customer. I would even opt for no peak at all.

Id hate to be the one to not agree, but I am new and I go in many other models rooms just to see how they do things, and I have been thinking about this topic, and if someone has x number for credits and they want to make sure it is spent on a quality model, the preview really helps... That way they can see what you are doing so they know when they want to jump in voyuer or pvt with you after... Half of models dont realize how easy it is to tell how good they are in pvt by their previews, so many stall and stall like you wouldnt believe... Plus, I hear many times in my room about men getting off just talking to me, so whats the difference?

I would like to add another dimension to the whole concept of "privacy" behind the so called "pvt" session.

The are many members out there whose pvt requests could easily be characterized by many as being "unorthodox" or just plain fucking weird.
I never refuse a request as long as the act(s) or the theme respects both F4F standards and my limitations.
Despite my open minded approach to any weird request, I will be totally conscious of the fact that there is an audience out there peeing in every time the red curtain flashes open.
The lack of complete intimacy between me and my customer makes it somewhat awkward for me to perform certain uncommon requests.

I once had a pvt who wanted a close up of me picking my nose.
Yes. I did say: picking my nose.
I froze for a second, not that I have any qualms about picking my nose (yeah, like no one in here picks their nose, right?) but I definitely had issues about the entire room watching me do this. So I faked it and it showed. I did not want to have to face the room as the laughingstock on F4F that evening. It was and still is a great anecdote, but that should remain between me and my pvt, not the whole room.

I have also experienced pvt "peepers" making unsolicited comments to members coming out of pvt's, such as: "Hey dude, you take a hot chick in pvt and all you wanted to see are her feet? WTF?", " or "She does have a great set of lips but why didn't you ask her to suck on a dildo like she's suckin' yo dick?", etc.
You get the picture.

I believe the solution should be either to use the random photo stills or to allow the customer the option of choosing whether they want their pvt's to be previewed or not.
The customer should have the right to choose.

This will definitely take some fine tuning though, because I can see flaws in all of these plans. Im sure VS would be saying "why fix what isnt broken"... but yeah..

I opt in for trial period.
It really isn't that hard to implement new features.. (like the model forum mmmm) or changing preview... I think doing a test "BETA DAY" once a month for new feature ideas, inform members maybe we will be doing a beta day on a specific day of each month

Say.. 1st of every month is BETA day and all ideas from previous can be tested for 24 hours.. see what happens.

I agree with you it should not be taken away totally..
that is why I do not think it should be a still photo..for your reasons exactly.
However, look at it from our perspective too.. you do not always see our frustration

Come out of pvt, and see 30 register/vip, and within seconds before you even have time to say "wow im still so wet" .. they are gone.
It would be great if more guys were like you, however -- don't forget men were perfectly capable of jerking off to pictures of half naked women before webcam/video was avail..... and that is exactly what they are doing

Even my ex after he moved away and we were still together, sometimes i would send him photos of myself.. and he masturbated to them. I'm like wow...dude I could just fly over to see you or send you a video or webcam feed lol... but when a guy is in need, that 5 second clip is more than enough.. and then some..

Theres your solution, have the models go semi-private if they are so offended by the preview window, not all the models are against it, and with the preview taken away I seriously think that there will be a loss of revenue to the site and of course to the models. The greys don't have a preview window and how many of them actually take the models private? It will all depend on what the site decides to do, or not do. Then those who are offended by the change or lack thereof will take whatever appropriate action is acceptable to them.

From what I was told, semi-pvt's are reserved for less experienced models from eastern Europe only.
So I'm not sure that would be an option for everyone.
