A vette man myself rickster...lol. The lady I bought it from had moved from Ohio I think it was, to down here in the south. Didn't even have an ac cause she didn't need it. So the first thing I did was have an ac put in. Talk about losing power when I turned it on. So many stories with this car. My funniest pickup line was "wanna go for a ride in my vette"..lmao. I was only 17 at the time...haha. Actually worked once :orglaugh My worst memory was driving home from work and it dying on me right in front of the Lockheed plant when they were changing shifts. And it died right under the traffic light. Got dirty looks and middle fingers from people coming AND going to work that day. Get outta ur car hand help me push it to the side of the road u bastards...lmfao.

Dam what memories.....................

The 1st was a 1966 Ford 150

It have 468 School Bus engine - VERY fast and 8 miles to the gallon :helpme
I had a friend on Air Force Base . I used Rocket Fuel at 25-50% to improve Performance
Old truck once wes on radar at over 150 mph :orglaugh Had to remind the police officer that there was no way an old truck could move that fast . I got just a warning after I reminded he would still have to try to tell his commanding officer he would miss work to testify that truck could somehow magically move that fast .

I paid $500 as is .
Took just a battery and plugs to get it running .
It had only 78,000 miles and I sold it many years later to be "Green"

I love older cars , I have 1967 Ford Lincoln Continental with Suicide doors .
100% restored with even Black & White TV .
Use it for shows . A friend shows it for me :thumbsup
Found it at a farm with 26,000 miles . Now has 28,000 miles and a classic :drinkup

Great topic Stratos :drinkup

98 ford escort zx2! loved the car.. very kinda sporty and stylish for the first one. i worked two jobs the summers of 15 and 16 to save up for it and when it was all said and done, i had paid for every penny of that thing!

OMG that was my older sister's first car! a pretty little blue thing! I was supposed to buy it off her, and then she rolled it!
:( That thing crunched in every way possible as to NOT hurt us!

Your lucky that thing didn't come apart at 150 bart man lol.Especially using the super high octane fuel you were mixing, surprised the engine didn't fuse into a boat anchor lol.Ahh the suicide door Lincolns...certainly and interesting car.We worked briefly on doors that would retract down into the floor area under the car a long time ago.Put it in practice on two Lincoln Mark 8's but the project was scrapped for safety reasons. The cars were supposed to have been scrapped, imagine our surprise when they came up for sale years later by private owners lol.

1976 Chevy Monte Carlo, bought when I was stationed in Hawaii. Being a Hawaii car it was a total rust bucket but got me where I needed to go when off-base! Ended up breaking down and I left in on the side of the road!

My 1st car was a 1975 Mini Cooper that I bought for £60 ( equivalent of around $100 ) the week after i passed my test in 1990 - not saying it was a wreck but it cost more to insure at the time than what I paid for it -- only drove it twice - the 2nd time the whole rear axle and subframe collapsed as it was rust held together with paint.

My first car was a Fiat UNO. It was a hell-machine... lol

The sad thing was, my dad ordered a new busines car and the old one (a Nissan Patrol Jeep) should be my present.

Actually I made a accident 2 days before I should get it, so I had to pay my Fiat UNO by myself. That is why I will never forget my little white racing machine... lol

1989 ford escort when i was 17 :guitar

i paid around 700 bucks for it. it was a disaster! no rad, no engine fan, AND it wouldn't hold oil! i delievered pizzas in it for a year, put about 120,000 km on it in that time (dunno how many miles that is for you yanks...sorry!) and it finally crapped out when i drove over a speedbump at a speed not recommended for speed bumps and the front axle cracked....that engine went 120K km with no form of engine coolant at all, not even motor oil for lube and still didn't die....fuck they don't make em like that anymore!

my first car, i don't even remember it. i grew up where, nobody had permits, tags or anything. everybody drove junk. lol i think i started driving when i was about 9. you want a car, go get one from the field and fix it. but i do remember my first reck. we were trying to jump start a car by pulling it and my brother hit the brakes and i ran into him. lol i remember another time we came up on an old wooden bridge, my cousin jumped up and down on it and said its safe but it wasn't, the car fell through. thinking back, bet i had a dozen recks before i was old enough to get my permit to drive. don't worry now, i haven't had a reck in like 5 years lol

p.s. i still drive junk cars

i have had a million cars before the first one i actualy had my name on and paid for.....
always had a family car, a boyfreinds, or girl friends car.

first car that i ever owned with my name on it was a 1995 dodge neon, hunter green.. 4 door. 5 speed.. from the dealer.
it had Ac. it was called mo' Ac. if you where hot, roll down the windows for MO' AC. :)
most expensive investment with that car was the radar detector, the stereo and my insurance do to the fact of how many sppeding tickets i had already acumulated by then.

and wouldnt you know a week after i paid it off and dropped my ins to liability..... i smacked it in to the back of a state trooper. whoops.

since then i have owned MANY cars i liked in the moment and than hated.

My first car was a 1974 Dodge Dart Sport. The sad thing is, it was new. That makes me really old, doesn't it? I loved that car. It was metal flake forest green with white stripes and a white vinyl top. I waxed it to such a shine that you couldn't even lay a towel on the trunk lid or hood without it sliding off. After some modifications, it was a pretty cool looking car. (Well, I thought so anyway) I had dual exhausts on it and orange peeler mufflers. The poor people that lived across the street from my parents hated it. LOL Every time I started the car in the driveway you could see their picture window shake. It's a wonder I didn't cause it to shatter sometimes. ohhh, the memories :)

75,000 miles for us yanks lol.Heres a fun fact too.The distance around the Earth through the poles is 24,860 miles so if your car has 100,000 miles on it you have driven it about 4 times around the earth :orglaugh the escort actually was a solid car, originally was planned to be a rear wheel drive car but then it took on the moniker of being a "World Car" and became a front wheel drive forever.
