Hi Kassie Lynn,

have you tried right clicking the performer video preview window and clicking settings to get into the flash player settings ? and then clicking the mic picture tab and there should be a drop down arrow that will list all the audio devices flash can use. The dazzle audio device should be there.

Also the performer application does it not have a settings/setup area where you can also assign the devices for audio and video ?

Other thing you can do is check in windows control panel and click sounds and audio devices > then the audio tab > then in there is a sound recording option with a drop down list, select the dazzle as the default audio device for recording audio and also you can set the volumes there too for the dazzle audio device.

Other thing is if you don't see the drop down audio options in the flash performer preview, try reinstall flash player and see if it then finds the dazzle audio device.

Thanks for your reply Purg. the main problem I'm having is that I can't log on to the chat system without clicking an "audio device" and none are listed for me to chose from. I can't get into the performer settings until I've logged first. I did the manage audio devices and do not see a prompt for dazzle. But it is correctly downloaded into my computer and the volume slider recognizes my voice when I test. I will try the flash player next. Thank you sooooo much! :angel

I'm about for a while tonight, you can try come online and see if we can hear you once you can login to the chat.. if you can ignore the audio device at login just ignore it and see if it can be selected later, threw the flash preview way or the setup in the performer application.

But make sure windows does see the dazzle audio in the audio and settings in control panel > recording options.. if that does not see it you may find you need to reinstall the dazzle drivers.

I think that's the problem. There is no option for the dazzle in my audio settings at all. Hopefully I can figure this out by tomorrow lol Thanks again. You are the best!

May need to reinstall the drivers or check in this thread for the new drivers link, make sure you use the right drivers if you are on XP or Vista.

thanks purg for all your help. My camera is rockin!!! Only problem now is that my logitech mic isnt working. Ive done programs where Im using this awsome camera and logitech mic (aka online kareoke

and it works fine just now when Im camming any suggestions on this?

when you say logitech mic, do you mean the mic in the logitech web camera or a seperate mic here ?

What type of mic is it if a standalone type, usb or normal analogue type ?

Also you could probably use the mic on the camera you have now thats plugged into the dazzle, all you will need to do is select the dazzle audio device.

Also you can try right clicking the performer preview video and selecting settings there and click the mic tab and see if the logitech mic is on the list that drops down and select it from there. This is the flash settings btw that you are changing here.

Yes I saw the problem there too, okay lets try resolve this problem.

The problem I think that is causing this is the internet speed you are on or the settings you maybe using in the performer application.

okay lets do 1st test, the internet speed test.

You will need to make sure no other person is on the internet or doing anything to access the internet line you use for that computer. Example if its cable turn off the t.v side of the cable too when you do this 1st test, reason I say that is some cable boxes will reduce the bandwidth to the internet side to use for the cable tv .

do a speed test and select the server for the test near you 1st then a server in USA in the Los Angeles California area and just stick the links for the test results here.

lets see what speed you are getting on that internet, could be just a bad day on the internet for you or maybe you are on a slow package.

Then re-run the test with the cable tv box on and on a channel as a test and post the results here too.

If you can also find out what speed internet you are meant to be on , please report that here too with thi information,

Download speeds, (normally the speed they give you to sell the internet package)

Upload speeds, (this is the important number I really need and this is what you can send out to the internet)

Also can you go threw the performer application and find all these settings and tell me what they are set at please and any setting there for video and audio that you can change and tell me what they state.

1. frame rate ( you said 15 frames to me last night)

2. quality settings for video

3. quality settings for audio

Your internet speeds are great, more then needed, so must be a setting problem somewhere.

Can you find the other information I asked for too please , regarding the quality settings in the performer application..

only settings for video are standard and wide screen (im using standard)
settings for audio are .... well, there are none

just the dropdown list to select which device you are using.
there is however a compression tab.within it, image quality (set at 90% out of 100%), frame rate (15-highest it can go) and bitrate-kbit/s (300)
hope this helps! cant wait to try again. I also just upgraded my internet speed since last night. thanks for all your help.

set your bitrate to 500 if you can 1st and set the image quality to about 75% for now and can you come online and test that ?

I'm about now and can come to your room and see how it's going there and see if we can fine tune it.
