Can you play music from local bands and music thats not mainstream?

Jade if you asked the bands for the right to use, also explained where it will be used and they have no problem with it, it should be fine I would have thought.. No music company can come after you for something that is created by friends or your own band aslong as you have not sold the rights on to a music company or anyone else that has some control over the material created.

I would verify any music with VS first and let them know it's something you are allowed to play and have rights to use from the band.

thats why I say the laws suck bad... and dislike them and are not clear enough .. read some of the laws regarding a video you rent ... there is a huge list of places where a video you paid to watch can not be seen... don't skip the messages as it starts up you will laugh at some of the things they list as places that the rented video can't be played..

The trouble is, that "big shot" might not tell the performer to stop, that "big shot" might terminate the performer's contract for breaching the rules

well to be honest i dont think flirt gives a shit since soo many models are working more than one site same time being nude in open and still working plus i am seeing more and more rooms with music being played and not being closed so i am beginning to wonder if all that flirt cares about is the $$$ from vod and if the model is making them any $$$

Well if a person is that scared to play the music dont ! I think if this was a big issue with flirt they would of void many contracts by now !!! The model can play music for her self but no sound for the members . This defeats the main issue in the start of the post for a better enjoyment of the member to return to the models room !

I agree with you Sig, Flirt4Free is ignoring many breaches of the rules at the moment

However, that's not to say that this will always be the case. A new staff member wanting to make a name for himself, or a monitor called to a model's room because of another problem, could easily impose a penalty for a breach of the rules

And while Flirt4Free can ignore breaches of its own rules (multicasting, nudity in open, etc), I don't think they can ignore situations where models are breaking the law if these situations are brought to their attention

I know, the rules... but i can`t live without music... it makes me wanna dance, and i love making my shows with a good rock n roll rythm.

Come visit me sometime and decide for yourself. It's more an English/Australian hybrid though.

The 'approved' music just isn't all that hot (sorry to whoever created it but hey). If it was that good it would have gone mainstream and sold well, putting it into the ranks of all the other great tunes we're not allowed to blast in the background.

It does seem to be a US based thing though - other sites I worked for in the past, that weren't based in the US, did not have this rule about music... we were allowed to play whatever we wanted to. Ah well, c'est la vie...

I still can't get over how someone can dictate what music you can or can't listen to. We all should be outraged!!! Seriously. What kind of world are we living in? Fuck these assholes who think they're better than others. You really think that the artist of the music would come on here and say, "Hey , I don't want that model playing my music while she's on here." Are you kidding me? We are the ones who give these people their fame! I'm telling you, we as people of the world better start speaking up and telling these fuckers to lighten up. We've been getting walked all over long enough. We gotta stop letting these corporate mindfuckers control the way we choose to live. Time to wake up, people! Open your eyes!!! Any music that you play that you do not own the rights to or that is not royalty free puts you, your studio and VSMedia at risk for a lawsuit from the artist. Do you want some music industry lawyers to come knocking at your door requesting $$$ from you because you were playing music that belongs to someone else in your room? I would also bet that most of the music being played has been downloaded off the internet illegally anyway... talk about a double whammy.

The AUDIO on this site is for the MODEL to promote herself and to get private shows using her angelic voice and not so we can hear what her taste or lack of taste in music is.

If you want music:

1 - mute your audio so its not being publicly broadcasted - remember that when you go private your audio goes back on and the music is being permanently recorded on the VOD.

2 - get an I-pod and headphones

3 - memorize all your favorite songs and sing them in freechat
