Wow there are so many great ideas here

Didn't know I was surrounded by such gourmets. Cool.

My favorite time out is when a big, big group of people go to a really good chineese restaurant and share all kinds of dishes.

My 2nd favorite is the same but Thai.

My 3rd is a good sushi place but no sharing :winkwink

And a respectable 4th is going to a great noodle house.

Least favorite restaurant: French! while in the US. But it actually jumps up to maybe number 2 or 3 if I get to be in France. Not because I am in France but because I've had much better luck finding good value and quality there. mmmmmm master chefs.

How about some Mexican food?

I could always make....

Margaritas, fresh home made chips, guacamole, pico de gallo, and quesadillas to start

Then we can have some enchiladas, tacos, rice, beans and fresh salsa

For dessert a Tres Leches Cake

Damn, I need to go shopping and so I can start cooking :drinkup

SOUL FOOD BABY! I'm talking baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, chicken wings, homemade biscuits, sweet potatoe pie, buttery rice, cornbread, okra,and of course some lemonade or sweet tea to top it off! Don't get me wrong I love other foods a lot too and I love to cook but when it comes to food to die for its Soul food hands down!

A double filet, medium well, side of steam broccoli w/ hollandaise. A bottle of ice cold Aqua Panna and for desert chocolate cake with godiva chocolate inside that is melted mmmm

Also you can never go wrong with a large pizza with double peperoni.

for ap... day long caramelized french onion soup... and a baby greens spinich salad coverd in manderine oranges and almond slices and blalsamic...

fliet mingnon grilled till med. coverd in fetta/sd toms/pepers.. ... or just a good ol bernaise sauce works....

seved with a realy good ice wine. or light strawberry wine.

home made brushetta (roma toms. diced large, white onion, fresh garlic,parsley, and fresh basil... deced and mixxed with a small amouint of olive oil) ona crusty 4 cheesebread coverd in freash or apple smioked mozzerella.
baked than broiled till golden brown.

and roasted baby reds or sweet pototoe or rice pilaf.

lemon velvet cake filled with vanilla whipped frosting, and fresh starwberries... made completly from scratch.......

nothing tooo complicated....

jasmine, i need a good sweet potatoe pie recipe. help a brother out?

No problem! here's one that I like to use although I don't really measure I go more by sight and taste! SO feel free to add a little more or less spices to your taste! I really like this one.

* 2 cups peeled, cooked sweet potatoes
* 1 1/4 cups sugar
* 1/2 stick melted butter
* 2 eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 to 2 tablespoons bourbon (optional, makes for a stronger flavor so be careful with that)
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
* 1 cup milk
* 9-inch unbaked pie crust

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

For the filling, using an electric hand mixer, combine the potatoes, 1 cup of the sugar, the butter, eggs, vanilla, salt, and spices. Mix thoroughly. Add the milk and continue to mix. Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Place the pie on a rack and cool to room temperature

You can feel free to add a meringue to top it off or even marshmallows if you like. I personally can eat it just like this but I do enjoy browned marshmallows on top as well. This recipe is pretty easy so it should turn out great. I have recipes for pie crust but I wasn't sure if you wanted to go that route because crust can be tricky sometimes. Lol

this is actualy what i made yesterday. not including the texas style french toast (secret ingrediant is cinn and french vanil extract.... as well as cooking them partialy coverd with a little butter for flavor)

only i did roasted reds for a startch.....

i do ok in a kitchen. tonight is lemon pasta made from scratch.. actualy gonna turn it in to a raviolie......... garlic bread/ and cukumber salad or coleslaw.....

desert will be penut butter filled brownies...
