Magic hold off Kobe, Lakers for Game 3 win

Missing for two games, Orlando found its Magic touch.

Making easy shots and tough ones from everywhere, the Magic won their first game in two visits to the NBA finals as Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis scored 21 points apiece in a 108-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 on Tuesday night to pull within 2-1.

Orlando shot a finals record 63 percent - including another finals record 75 percent in the first half - to snap a six-game finals losing streak and avoid falling into an 0-3 hole that no team in postseason history has been able to escape.

Kobe Bryant, seeking a fourth title and his first since 2002, scored 31 points for the Lakers but the superstar had just 10 points in the second half and went only 4 of 15 from the field after the first quarter. He also missed five free throws, points that could have given the Lakers that 3-0 lead.

Game 4 is Thursday night, and Game 5 - now necessary - will be at Amway Arena on Sunday

Both are Great Teams - Orlando played almost perfect to win last night and got the "I lost every final game this decade" monkey off thier back .

thank you sir! the magic lost game two, twice they had the opportunity to win the game and both times blew it. after game one where the magic were trying to readjust to having one of their injured stars back, games 2 and 3 have shown a much more adjusted magic team playing like they did against the lakers in the regular season. they've got the "orlando hasn't won a nba finals game" monkey off their backs and the sweep issue put away. i originally said orlando in six with them winning game 2, and i still think they are going to take the series. :thumbsup

it's too bad lick has to work these next few days cause i was looking forward to seeing what creative names he was gonna come up with! :orglaugh

I didnt think it would be a sweep just caz magic is a good team. So they one once, we will give them that right? Lakers take over from here and give me something to have a shot for at the end of game 4. Thank goodness I have thurs night off because I will be drinking watching the game. Go Lakers :drinkup

At least there's the draft and my Knicks could see .500 again within the decade.

haha cant wait. That was a freaking awsome game last night. The bar was packet and everyone was going crazy esp when Fisher made the 3 pointer to go into OT. It was sooooooo much fun but I drank way too many beers. But awsome game. Sorry Diddy it is now in the bag. Theres no way magic will get both away games. Sorry

i am just throwing this out there for all to know. the lakers did not WIN this series, the magic LOST it. everyone in LA better be counting their lucky stars that kourtney lee can't make a layup (or a drive to the basket) and dwight howard can't hit free throws. this series should be 3-1 orlando right now... :mad

not one bit. LA dominated game one because they were trying to re-sync a lineup that hadn't played together since february, so it took them a game to get it together. kourtney lee controls his nerves a bit more and game two doesn't even go to overtime. dwight howard makes ANY of his free throws and the lakers walk out last night down 3-1. but alas, los angeles proves once again they are not the best team.. just the luckiest. :mad
