Instead of wondering, you could always ask. And, in case you haven't noticed, I'm not the only one who tires of snide and obnoxious behavior, hidden behind a veneer of flowered prose. You may think it's cute, I do not.

I've been on msg boards since 1996 grumpy. Ophie is nothing new to me and neither is her fan club. In fact, she is old, tired and on every board in existence.....and many elementary school playgrounds.

And I DON'T have to wonder what percentage of Ophies posts are veiled attacks on people who just want to ask/say something. I've seen enough to know. A bully is a bully....and I don't like bullies. I also recognize this thread for what it is, as I state above. Nothing but a pathetic need for attention and undeserved adulation.

Anything else I can help you with?

How bout keepin your unneeded, unwanted and unwarranted opinions to yourself? don't be a hypocrite, why attack her if you dislike so much that she "attacks" others? Ever think that perhaps what you perceive as crude message board behavior is actually just sarcasm in print that, if seen in the light that the above posters tried to allude you, to isn't really that bad at all? She, like you, and like many others, is just a fan of the site, of the female form, of this type of interaction, who just happens to be outspoken, poetic and for the most part pertinacious.

It's damn well time people just let her be her without trying to change who she is or how she does. Wanna talk about old and tiresome? Get over it already. This card has been played before, and played way out. She's a welcome fixture here, if you haven't noticed.

Ok Mayhem, I'm asking you, what percentage of your remarks are an attack on Ophelia? I have only see a few of your remarks on the board and will admit I haven't been here as long as you, but everyone has included an attack on Ophelia. Guess what I have had differences with her too, we talked them out like rational adults, we addressed the issues without insults and worked them out. If you would like to work your differences out with me I am willing, but please leave things like "fan club" out of the conversation. Here is your invitation, I don't want to argue with anyone but I am a grumpy old man so it is my natural inclination. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Well, I seem to be the least emotional person involved in this. If anyone thinks I was gritting my teeth when I made my other posts, I wasn't. I was stifling a series of gut-laughs, actually.

I've made my points, and I stand by them. I will add one more before I quit the battlefield, unbloodied and unbowed. If anyone thinks that the slow pace of this board is not coincidental to the responses that people have come to expect, I'd like to hear YOUR explanation. No one goes back to a restaurant where they received surly and rude behavior in the past. They find another place to go. Again, I've been around the block way too many times not to recognize what I see here. Do I care that much? I actually don't care at all. This has been nothing more than a time passing exercise, much like a crossword puzzle.......or masturbation.

And since you guys are so worried about this, I will close in my own Ophie-esque way:

Well Mayhem u said i should ask you what percentage of your posts were insults of Ophelia, instead of an answer I see you patting yourself on the back and declaring victory. This post reminds me of how we declared peace with honor in vietnam. You leave the battlefield a mean spirited liar. Until you keep your word and answer this simple question, which I only asked at your request I see you as you really are. I asked for a moderate dialogue and got self-dellusional pablim instead.

Leave the battlefield defeated, we are still here and you have said you are leaving.
This reminds me of a statement of Abraham Lincoln. He was asked if you call a dog's tail a leg how many legs does a dog have? His response 4 no matter what you call the tail it's still a tail

So go ahead and call this encounter a victory, as in calling a dog's tail a leg, it's still a defeat.

You want an answer? OK. I really don't know what the percentage is, because this isn't a cause for concern for me. If you are so worried about this, why don't you go through the threads, count 'em up and get back to me.

I mentioned elementary school before. I'm glad I did. You guys are so good at dishing out, and so utterly pathetic at taking it. Typical bullying behavior. The moment someone stands up and delivers a shot at the bully, the crying begins. "We were only joking", comes the plaintive, soprano cry. You wring your hands and desparately seek excuses, while contemplating the end of your clique-ish supremacy. You huddle around your fallen hero to console her. "He's not so tough", you reason, while peering over your shoulder.

I must really be striking a chord to be getting all this vitriol directed back at me. Pobricitas! Poor babies. OK, I'll lay off your heroine. Send her an email, fawn over her, dry her tears. Tell her it's safe to come out now. Feel the warmth of validation as she casts her grateful eyes toward you, her gaze full of promise to "her man", who rescued her. If this is what you need in your life, then I want you to have it.

I have personally witnessed the unjustifiably rude and critical way Rue has been toward a number of members. Suggs is one of them, but I can name a few others.

This is true that me and Rue had a difference of opinion on a grand scale HOWEVER we both have classed this as water under the bridge and made up like a pair of ADULTS. Plus if you noticed properly it was in the ANGER thread where these comments were made. Can you find anywhere else where there has been vitriol between me and her ?? UMMM probably not.

Since you have responded Suggs, I will respond as well. I have seen her being critical of you in more than just one thread. And no, I really don't think it was the Anger thread. She was critical of you and condemned you because of the way you look physically. I don't know about you, but that would really make me angry.
I've seen Rue make fun of or condemn members for the screen name they had. And the screen names were not off the wall, ridiculous ones, they were good ones. Just because she didn't like the name, she would automatically put that member on her BAD list and consider him an enemy and a jerk who doesn't deserve respect. That sure sounds like a bully to me. Mayhem is correct.
I read threads a lot, but I don't always respond to them. In this case it's appropriate. In one thread I remember her complaining because she had to retype an entire prose she did, because the administration or VS censored part or all of it. If she was really that upset about that whole thing, the solution is simple. Just leave. If you don't like the way admin does things, you don't have to stick around. You can leave, just as you have already said you would leave in this very thread. It isn't that complicated.
But you can't be critical of certain people? Why, because they have been here so long that that makes them immune? It's the same way politicians think.

Well all the comments about the way I look are just water off a ducks back to me - I just turn a deaf eye to the comments and get on with something called REAL LIFE !

Well CPR I know you addressed this to Suggs, but being the nosey guy I am I will address some of your issues. In my life I have disagreements with friends, in the end the insults and the hurt can be worked out and we remain friends. I did not give myself this nickname so you can figure out the amount of disagreements I have with friends reach monumental proportions, in the end we talk we forgive and we move on.

I have a question. If you guys find Ophie's obnoxiousness so delightful, then what is wrong with what I post? Why do you feel so threatened by what I type? And if you hate it so much......why do you keep coming back for more? Isn't the first rule of the internet: If ya don't like it, don't click it? I'd be long gone if I didn't keep getting so many knee-jerk responses. And before the brain trust that populates this thread tries to turn my own question towards me, my original posts on this board were met by the same BS rudeness that CPR and I are pointing out here. And then I noticed it in other threads, directed at people that didn't need this kind of nonsense.

Well kids (and I use that term quite seriously), open season is over. I have absolutely no intention of doing any "hunting" myself. I'm not going to click on any links just for the sake of seeing if Ophie got there first. But the ones I do click on, if I see some chessy little attack, made on behalf of the posters own need to feel superior, I'm locking and loading. Bullying behavior is a serious problem for me, on any level that I find it. And I can't help but notice that no one has touched my question on why a board like this should be so quiet. So much for getting up-in-arms for questions being asked and answered.

I will give Ophie credit for one thing though. She's got more balls than the "he-men" who try to stick up for her. Or is that too "misogynistic" of me? :guitar
