I feel my tension fairly easing
to see an arse - aesthetically pleasing
whether it be clad in denim or leather
silk or lace or the altogether
the female form has always held wonder
the gentle curve, nipped in at the waist
then out again to draw the hips
the shape that launched a 1000 ships

I saw you on my walk today
down busy streets and shady lanes
we exchanged a smile and our eyes met
as if late, you quickened your step
it lifted my spirits, this random meeting
albeit by chance and very fleeting.
Oh Indian Girl tell me your secrets
Where are you off to in your summer dress?

close to my age, wearing western clothes
a well fitting garb, clutch bag, wedge shoes
dark shiny hair, like some ad by pantene
An urgency in your step for some unknown deadline
In a city of a million souls, one can still feel alone
But for the briefest of time, planets were aligned
Sorrow I never feel when seeing a girl walk away
It happens more often than not

Your perfect outline, in the distance now
a thing of beauty to behold,
you stumbled but regained your stride
for a second I hoped you might fall
so I might catch up and ask if OK?
Somehow a cruel opening gambit
pushed from my mind, I felt guilty for the thought
someone else will be admiring that ass tonight

Of war and carnage every point I know;
And well I know to wield, now right, now left,
The tough bull's-hide that forms my stubborn targe:
Well know I too my fiery steeds to urge,
And raise the war-cry in the standing fight.
But not in secret ambush would I watch,
To strike, by stealth, a noble foe like thee;
But slay thee, if I may, in open fight.

Hector to Ajax, before commencing Ares' deadly dance: The Iliad

most likely your forum list just hadn't updated yet

would just ask; is it yours or did someone else pen it?

A Soldiers Goodbye
by IRideAMagicalLadle

Its so hard to say goodbye, and though I try not to cry,

my tears still fall at the thought of you leaving to soon.

You hug me and tell me its all right,

and I fight to smile, battling through all my fears,

all those jewel like tears at the though of you leaving.

Through your own tears you smiled,

battling your own fears you told me,

how much you loved me.

I have never loved you better then when you told me those words,

on the eve of your departure.

* sneaks in, looks 'round, then *

I took the hottie private
In a way it made me wince
Dangerous loving like a pirate
Long, hard, ending with me a prince

Afterwards we corresponded
She tried to lay down the law
To her needs me she bonded
Me protesting, pointing out the flaw.

My box did fill with impatient demands
As I wiggled free of the chain
I cavorted after each of her reprimands
Soon little of the prince did remain

So all ye models noble and great
Heed well this warning from me
Though he be obliging in private
Men live to be free

Syncope
by *TheLunaLily

Cells dance away from limbs
that tingle cooly, becoming heavy
as sand pours into numbing skin.

Sway, sway like one slow waltzing with a ghost
whose arms do not hold you steady,
whose feet have forgotten how to lead.

And the black butterflies promenade,
a graceful swarm crowding out the world
Fall well, for there is nothing more that you can do.

And It Broke My Heart
by *callerofcrows

& it broke my heart,
so I turned down all the pictures
and I tried to forget
where I put your necklace but
it's still reflected in the mirror,
lurking behind my jewelry box.

& it broke my heart
when I took the yearbook from the shelf
and stumbled on your picture
not so accidentally,
right before your scrawled
"Forever yours."

& how to regain composure
when turning down the sheets,
when lying on the bed,
while thinking of all the alternate worlds
where my hand is in your hand, but...

that's before I changed the pictures
& let tarnish choke that silver charm
& put the yearbook in the attic
next to the music that you wrote.

& it felt so good
to spray my bed with my perfume;
to willfully forget
you ever smiled there.

I loved her savage tits.

When things collapse, in that long drawn death series;
Memorys moments serve a shredder, torn tear filled torrents.
Rage burns hot, heart swells touching torches in bright burnt bowels.
Eyes wander, dancing any evil bitch you want to.
Booze wont numb, pills dont dumb, the punches to your belly
Collapse the spine yet wont take your breath away.
Wonder hovers, Ernest, his need for certainty that desperate
When you think of Kurt and what was love

To never bend and clutch in longing shock, left only blood and brains to stain your savage tits.

amidst maple mist

she reminisces on

candied adolescence

chains once laced in a sway of laughter

now a metaphor in her mind

Life's never ending bind

What of dreams

and lolly gagging hours?

We would pretend to be birds

when fear was just a word

and it may sound absurd

that a swing seems more appropriate at my age

but I have forgotten how to fly. - Ashlyn Perri

Love the poetry! Thnx for this thread!

Things That Howl
by =Bark

Things that howl through my mind late at night, while I sit in a haze of cigarette smoke.
Things that pop. Barbed wire rosaries. Teeth. Dried flowers. Things that squish.
Bones.
Clouds passing in front of the moon. Locks of hair. Decomposed frogs. Old books. Razors.
Tin halos.
Broken televisions. Things that come back. Midnight phone calls. Whispers. Gibberish.
Echoes.
Things that remain. Spoiled food. Mold. Flies. Disease. Terminals. Dogs with sores. Things that cry.
Skin.
Things that crack. Things that drip. Drillbits. Ventriloquist dummies. Stars. Shoes.
Things that howl.

n-dimensional man i fold

runs my fingers along the lines
where a given number of times
creased, folded, spindled, wrapped,
crumpled, spread out and pressed
flat again
you have been held in this limited
dimensional universe
that grey eyes alone
might take you up
in origami tendered hands
and float you lightly
in breezes unmolded.

Its raining

by ~miss-butler

Being kissed in the rain would be so romantic he said
And gave her a look
That caused something in her to die
Making her want to break down and cry.
***
I cant love you now
Ive put my heart into anothers hands
There it will stay
On this rainy day

Acid rain
Dissolves better judgment
.Truth drips in the holes
I could love you
Oh I know I could love you very well

But not now
Not
Now

Never At

Only 'with' will I dance, hold you close
to take that chance, that you while smiling
will hold me up; keep our hearts light,
not underfoot.

It's Not My Time:

The black raven calls warning

into the viscid mist.

From the dampened darkness

the unforgiving shadow emerges,

his towering presence

fills the night with dread.

"Have mercy on me!" she begs

weak in her desperation.

she spills to her knees,

in a stutter of vindication.

In response to her plea

the dark spirit strokes her

rain soaked hair.

An irremediable write off on her soul.

with the last of her strength,

she stands with pride.

succumbing to her fate,

she takes death by the hand.
