lol

ooooooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Looks like the thread is going down an odd new direction. Maybe we should stop it before it needs a title change.

While good fights are good fights and worth fighting, there are also "sanctuary zones" where we don't fight just to see what it feels like to be at peace. I guess I saw this as an eye in the hurricane thread or some kind of strange sanctuary.

I don't know how the subject came up or what was removed or or or... and I don't think it matters. Let's just contemplate something nonthreatening as we veer into the end of year.

sweet heart... humor is the best karma left to your species... enjoy it my green eyed tactical genius (kisses) .... and with that done

I was at Walmart buying a bag of Purina dog chow in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. Why else would I be buying dog chow, RIGHT ??? So on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again, and that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care, with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and all you do is load your pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Better watch what you ask me and be prepared for my answer. I have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say........................ now that you've read it I have to confess, I copied it from someone else

Ok I think you are all ready for the next level.

I am ready to communicate some ideas so deep, so powerful, that they require a new icon alegra to express. (and then I'll finally make it outside to do what I ... must do there lol)

< :evil | the annilihation operator. Shiva's fav.

< :angel | the creation operator. Its dual.

< :evil :party | the bad santa operator. more destructive than annilihation operator.

Note that each is set off by the bracket, left bracket. This bra notation, to be followed by the ket notation, is mandatory to set these off from mere hieroglyphs.

| :bulb > the ket of illumination and enlightenment

| :guitar > the explosive ket

| :jerkoff > the fertility ket

Now I can express fundamental things such as < :evil | :bulb > the annilihation of the enlightenment by forces evil.

< :twocents | :smoking > the corruption of the wise by material things....

Hmmmmmmmmm it pleases me...

The careful student may well wonder why there is a '|' in between the brackets.

Well more explanation about the < operator working on the > ket is needed.

You see the interaction occurs in a space. If the space is our familiar 4D world, Munchskinian Space, then nothing else is needed. However, as you have learned, there are other worlds, other planes of reality, other existences. Of various dimensionalities.

For example < :) | :drinkup | :thumbsup > means in inebria, the Q dimensional orthospace created in the vortices of the best whiskies, happiness was brought by the demolishing of Prohibition.

< :bowdown | :jerkoff | :orglaugh > worship of comedians has begun in jerkovia.

< :hitit | :helpme | :evil > flirting with online help assistants is now common as a last ditch effort to get critical systems up.

< :evil :party | Tokyo | :guitar > Holy Shit!!! Bad Santa has destroyed Tokyo!!!!

Ragnarok finally ended.

The crazed general for the ... not bad santas smashed through the ranks of the fiend.

As the murk haze grew and modulated toward the longer wavelengths, Bad Santa, leering all the time, went down with the mark of 40 on him. The whole universe groaned its relief.

The tyranny had ended. The blight had been purified. But at a horrific cost.

Ok I've been having problems caused by a virus. A computer virus.

So I figure I must have been negligent on pleasing the computer related subset of the gods of karma. So to please them:

Designed obsolesence keeps life fresh and exciting.

Perpetual connectivity and random updates allow your system to ever evolve as a side benefit.

Haste makes malware waste your computer.

You may be admin of your machine but admin is not the same as god.

Know well those you trust.

Make multiple copies of everything you do.

Files get old and die too.

Reverting back to the good old days makes for great improvements when the enemy is at your gates. However, it is impossible to go back perfectly. There will always be some difference.

Capturing Rhodes may crash your computer, but if you never crash your computer, will you ever capture Rhodes?

As things get more complex, there are more ways to solve the problem.

The being that threatens you continually, when things are going wrong, is probably the cause of the problems.

Never pay good money to a thug. Invest the money in defeating the thug.

More bang for the buck in virtual features at the expense of basic features is a fool's bargain.

There is risk in every enterprise. Managing risk means tolerating some level of risk. Not eliminating it.

You can replace a computer but you cannot ever get back the time you spend on it.

Now Karma wouldn't be worth a spit in a tsunami if we couldn't see it working in people's lives, especially those of the famous. Now I have a tale (with some help from wiki), true as true can be, of the subtle workings of Karma during the Old West. In the Age of the Mountain Man.

Few today have heard of the tough old mountain man: Hugh Glass. Well, his most famous adventure started as a member of Ashley's 100. This was an expedition notable for having a number of men in it who would become legendary such as Jim Beckwourth, Thomas Fitzpatrick, David Jackson, John Fitzgerald, William Sublette, Jim Bridger, and Jedediah Smith.

Early in the trek, Glass established himself as a hard-working fur trapper. He was apparently wounded on this trip in a battle with Arikaras, and later traveled with a party of 13 men to relieve traders at Fort Henry at the mouth of the Yellowstone River. The expedition, led by Andrew Henry, planned to proceed from the Missouri, up the valley of the Grand River in present-day South Dakota, then across to the valley of the Yellowstone.

Well near the forks of the Grand River, I believe it was in '23, yeah '23, while scouting alone for game, Glass surprised a grizzly bear mother with her two cubs. Before he could fire his rifle, the bear charged, picked him up, and threw him to the ground. Glass got up, grappled for his knife, and fought back, stabbing the animal repeatedly as the grizzly raked him time and again with her claws. Glass managed to k1ll the bear with help from his trapping partners, Fitzgerald and Bridger, but was left badly mauled and unconscious. Henry became convinced the man would not survive his injuries.

Nobody had the guts to ask the obvious question: what had he done to offend the Gods of Karma? But it was in the forefront of each and every mind.

Henry asked for two volunteers to stay with Glass until he died, and then bury him. Bridger, who would become the most famous mountain man of them all but was then only 17 years old and Fitzgerald stepped forward, and as the rest of the party moved on, began digging his grave.

Well it ain't easy being alone, even with a buddy, in indian country. After a time of faithfully performing their duty to their comrade they got spooked. They grabbed Glass's rifle, knife, and other equipment, and took flight. They left him covered in a bear hide shroud, in a tight little cave. They figured he would die soon enough and so left him to do so.

Bridger and Fitzgerald reported to Henry that Glass had died... The expedition moved on...

The Gods of Bad Karma now must have been absolutely delighted.

But there is balance in the universe... the good began to reassert itself...

Despite his injuries, Glass regained consciousness. He did so only to find himself abandoned, without weapons or equipment, suffering from a broken leg, the cuts on his back exposing bare ribs, and all his wounds festering. Glass lay mutilated and alone, more than 200 mi from the nearest settlement at Fort Kiowa on the Missouri.

In one of the more remarkable treks known to history, Glass set his own leg, wrapped himself in the bear hide his companions had placed over him as a shroud, and began crawling. To prevent gangrene, Glass laid his wounded back on a rotting log and let the maggots eat the dead flesh.

Deciding that following the Grand River would be too dangerous because of hostile Native Americans, Glass crawled overland south toward the Cheyenne River. It took him six weeks to reach it.

Glass survived mostly on wild berries and roots. On one occasion he was able to drive two wolves from a downed bison calf, and feast on the meat. Reaching the Cheyenne, he fashioned a crude raft and floated down the river, navigating using the prominent Thunder Butte landmark. Aided by friendly natives who sewed a bear hide to his back to cover the exposed wounds, Glass eventually reached the safety of Fort Kiowa.

Karma may have sent the grizzly but it relented and sent the wolves and the calf, and made his next indian encounter friendly. Karma momentum was building...

After a long recuperation, Glass set out to track down and avenge himself against Bridger and Fitzgerald. A good man given a rough time with murderous thoughts filling his mind...

When he found Bridger, on the Yellowstone near the mouth of the Bighorn River, Glass spared him, purportedly because of Bridger's y0uth. This was a formative experience in the y0ung man's life. He went on, as many of you know, to be the epitome of the responsible mountain man. The tree of Karma has many karma cones that fall near the tree.

When Glass found Fitzgerald, and discovered that Fitzgerald had joined the United States Army, Glass purportedly restrained himself because the consequence of k1lling a U.S. soldier was death. But more likely because in his heart he knew Fitz was cool too despite that one bad decision, large as it may have been.

As a bonus he also did recover his lost rifle.

I leave it as a homework assignment to find out Hugh's final fate. It makes the karma conscious get karma bumps up and down his/her/it hide.

Who can argue with that? :)

A tough test is feeling worth without a job or while dealing with a job you hate. But this is passed by simply realizing that your worth doesn't come from it. Then generalizing to the precious nature of life itself. To see the world this way is a conscious choice. Whether or not the universe values life, man can choose to do so.

Have a great New Year!

Now many have noticed that there can be bias in the way we pose our fundamental questions and frame our basic answers, for example:

1) Having crashed your computer, pathetically, why did you still try again to conquer Rhodes, you imbecile?

Clearly there is some subjective garnish in the preceding version.

2) Apple computers wouldn't crash even if you did conquer Rhodes.

This could be true but takes us astray and shows muddled thinking.

3) Liberal computers faint when conquering Rhodes. Conservative computers cannot NOT attack Rhodes, even when it is occupied by 18 nation's armies.

Politicizing the issue.

4) My puppy kept me from conquering Rhodes before 3 pm.

Blatant appeal to the puppy factor.

5) To conquer or not to conquer Rhodes... that is the question...

Hamletizing it.

6) He feinted left. He put his cav in motion. Then he conquered Rhodes.

Play by playish.

7) omg i knkd Rhodes

Requires opposable thumbs.

8) Rhodes conquered I, crashed computer then.

Sagaish.

9) Rhodes :bowdown me because I ....

Here it gets cut off by some new constraint. New memory limit? Or perhaps I used a bad symbol combo...

Now after reading through the long story of the mountain man and the bear, and how it relates to Karma, you may well wonder about the goads and rods of the Karma enforcers in this modern age.

Specifically, you may wish to know if there is any consequence to ripping off other people's ideas, claiming them for your own. Do the Karma enforcers still use grizzly bears today for such a thing?

No they don't. They use your relatives.

Every teenage kid has to serve 3 years in the Karma police. They don't get the way they are by their own instincts, it's trained into them. Of course once they have completed their service their brains are wiped clean.

The worse the crime, the more severe the response. If some family member you never heard of from the black sheep side of your family tree comes to you in dire need of a roof, your roof, to live under for some long, long period of time... you can be sure that your punishment has been decided and the only question is just how tough it is gonna be. You should immediately reflect upon your past actions to make sure you don't continue in the gods offending track.

Hey girls, gather round, listen to what I'm putting down
Hey babe, I'm your handy man
I'm not the kind to use a pencil or rule, I'm handy with love and I'm no fool
I fix broken hearts, I know I really can

If your broken heart should need repair, then I'm the man to see
I whisper sweet things, you tell all your friends, they'll come running to me

Here is the main thing I want to say, I'm busy 24 hours a day
I fix broken hearts, I know I really can
Korma, korma, korma, korma, korm, korm, yeah, yeah, yeah
Korma, korma, korma, korma, korm, korm, yeah, yeah, yeah, they'll come running to me

Here is the main thing I want to say, I'm busy 24 hours a day
I fix broken hearts, I know I really can

Ah yes... a popular subject on yewtewbe.

There are more ways to live a life than varieties of Korma or arms on Ganesh. But they are all improved with a good beer.
