After hearing friend's privates in 3 different rooms [left early] - I have decided to leave Flirt4Free until they a few things get fixed. Names I can type in - violation of privacy and not even lip service from Admin


A fix for this was pushed out this afternoon and it was a very specific series of events that had to happen for it occur, not a widespread problem and now it's fixed.

I understand somethings needed to happen
Poor performance of Flirt4Free / Video Secrets to not announce when they would switch to new interface


Announcing when the switch to 100% would happen would not make a substantial difference here. While still not 100% where we want it to be in terms of audio quality all of the other bugs have been addressed quickly.

Unfortunately the move to AS3 (Flash's new programming language) caused some audio issues which we are working with Adobe to fix. The security and speed improvements of the new code are much better as is the H.264 video & 5.1 channel audio we are working on will be much better; it sucks that we had to take a step backwards with audio quality in some rooms (not all suck) to get there.

If the audio really bothers email me and I'll give you a solution that I will not post on the forums.

Mr lick its fixed and to be honest it must have been a really strange bug that one with the audio in opne room or depended on the browser and flash or sound hardware you run in that pc.

I never heard the privates in open room and I think as Brad said it was very rare and had to fall into all the conditions for that to happen, anyway they fixed that now so keep an ear open again and see if you get it again.

Question for you.

A model asked me to whisper to other members in room rather than cross banter and told me that to do this you type /member name to whisper directly to that person. I tried it unsuccessfully and also was under the impression that it was impossible to do.

Can you confirm if this is possible or if she is correct?

I felt quite the Guinea Pig using new interface.I seen almost all the errors and many new ones .
I felt very ignored posting and no immediate action for Privates to be heard by me while I was in open .

I posted in VIP for Brad to email me here at Flirt or my Email with account listed with Flirt4Free
I will try new interface when Mr Brad emails me a solution
I have done ALL that was asked and deal with inadequate lesser quality New Interface for me

my BIGGEST issue as in last time - Flirt4Free/Video Secrets could value thier customers and annouce WHEN it would change.
Allow time for education and fix bugs BEFORE not having another option .
I felt customer SHOULD have been informed .

We can't whisper to other users on the new chat, we could at 1st stage of the old chat and they removed it later from the old chat too. So in short we can only whisper to the performers. Quote

LickaU I know what you are saying regarding they should have given us some date when it will flip over to the new interface, but to be honest they told us last time and still made no real difference, I appreciate the fact they should have given a date just to inform us and let us all feel part of the loop.


The truth is the new interface is a lot better then the old one, just still some minor things need tweeking but these problems only show up when you put such a system under a real load and they are doing that as we speak..

Just over the last week I have noticed a lot of bugs being taken out of it and its getting more stable each day and even from day one it was useable only the cam2cam seemed to play up, the model menu was not allowing us to open all sections (not a big deal, but they fixed it to how we like to use it), censor overly sensetive was a problem too but they are trying to balance that against these spammers that never give up.

The audio fidelity of the new chat is not as good as the old chat, reasons are its using a better codec that needs fine tuning I guess and the 5.1 aspect of it in a mono microphone environment is always going to make it probably sound worse unless you can set the 5.1 options to mono or stereo. Maybe they need to put some option next to the mute sound where we can choose the audio option that sounds best for us from 5.1 to stereo to mono ... I don't know why the problem with audio really not played with 5.1 audio on a web based application, only in editing suites and for making blurays or dvds. Also the echo some are getting is because they have the microphone to close to the speakers and getting feedback, maybe a feedback filter needs to be added to the audio codec or put a larger delay in the audio to stop the feedback or reduce it.


Also laptops are prone to feedback and echo unless they have a microphone in them that can cancel it, cheap laptops don't so an external microphone will be needed thats why they have the mic socket on them too ;)... or better use a headset that will not cause feedback.


Not really sure what else is wrong with this new chat, the privates work fine in most cases and I tested the privates in a group chat room on and off and always loaded up fine and the video played without any problems even on an old laptop I have in the corner that is only good for typing documents on really.


Just keep highlighting the problems and state the operating system, flash version you use and the specs of your pc too will help, more info you give them more they can do to find the problem.

As you know I work with computers too and do a lot of troubleshooting for my work too, worse part of my job is someone comes to me and says XYZ does not work and does not tell me how it does not work and what the problem is they are seeing and not telling me the full story of the computer and what they may have changed from the general default settings. SO as you can imagine I sit there frstrated trying to find what they mean instead of them working me threw how they caused the problem, which in end would give me a route to fix it. Computers don't just magically work really, alot of time goes into tweeking them and their programs.

So lets help the tech department at VS and give the problems with more details, even a screenshot will be worth adding if you can capture the problem at the time and send it to

CustomerService@vs.com and state its for the attention of the developers of the Version 3 interface.


Just to let you all know the technology they are using in the new interfcae is the latest bit of technology they can use in this environment, so in time as a non-techy person you will see the benefits in video and audio quality, I look at it as new technology just because i'm a nerd and know what it will bring in a techy way and what can be done with it, I know as a customer it's hard to understand why things change and sometimes at 1st looks worse before it gets better thats the nature of such projects but i'm seeing it's alot better and what the future brings with the new technology they have added to version 3 and the new flash programming they have used.

So let's all look at it as it's a glass half full rather then half empty for now and let them work out the bugs with our help and also take a good look at your computers and ask yourself is it causing you any problems on other sites and if the answer is yes maybe time to go over your pc and make sure you update it's software and maybe even a good time to do some updates to it , more memory better cpu etc ... Windows 7 is round the corner and if you are not running atleast a dual core pc by end of this year you will realise not a lot on the internet may work that is interactive or has a lot of media in codecs like h.264 they do use some proccessing power to do their job right these codecs.


Okay will end here and guys if you are having some problem , stick a note here and I will try help you too, to make it work on your computer. So far it works fine for me on my computers I know that work correctly.


Just remember state the full problem with a spec of your computer and the versions of the browser and operating system , flash , java etc..

Just a heads up for everyone they are now on version v3.0.37 of the flash chat there.

So to make sure you are running the latest version with the improvments and fixes, you can do the 3 following things.


1. 1st check your computer has picked up the updates by right clicking the chat or video and it should read Flirt4free v3.0.37. If not do step 2 or 3.


2. This is one I like and makes sure you get the latest pages from the web servers. Clear your browsers cached files and cookis . In firefox you click tools Clear recent history and expand the sections and make sure the cookies and cache are selcted to be cleared. In internet Explorer click tools then internet options and there you will see browsing history, again slect cookies and temporary internet files and click delete.


3. You can hold down CTRL + F5 keys to do a forced refresh or hold down CTRL and then with the mouse click refresh on the browser. This will also make the browser get the latest updates from a site.

There are times when transitioning from one room to another, if the performer is in a prvt while you leave open chat you can get a glimpse, granted its half a second, and originally with a little bit of the audio but you can see what the performer is doing at that exact moment. It would appear the audio isn't a problem, so far as I've seen, any more but the glimpse I've seen is full window without the curtain. As of today it appears to be just a "still" but originally it was full motion. I believe the recent changes to fix the audio may have reduced this glimpse to a "still". Quote

I haven't tried it, but I would assume that button was a mistake. They've never allowed links to sites before so I doubt they meant to leave that button active in the mail system. Lets face it, we're not allowed to send links via chat and historically emails with links inside them would just bounce back to the sender. Quote

Also people that had problems with the new interface, linux users for example and people finding that the new chat for some reason does not load for them and had to use another site to use the old chat don't need to do that now, www.flirt4free.com will now work for all again, login to the room and if the newchat does not work for you, there is an area at the bottom and to the left saying "Problems with the new chat? Click here to try a different interface" the different interface is the old chat interface.

No boot for that - tried it several times and not booted from room
Used to get booted when I used backspace when it refreshed every 2 or 5 minutes.
Maybe just when page refreshses like the back space in past ?
