Pareto's Principle:
"Business management thinker Joseph M. Juran suggested the principle and named it after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who observed in 1906 that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population; he developed the principle by observing that 20% of the pea pods in his garden contained 80% of the peas. It is a common rule of thumb in business; e.g., "80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients.""
This principle can be applied to many things in life from business to relationships. Focus on the 20% of customers who spend time with you in private. You will not only be more productive, but be more happy in general. It won't be hard for you to sort out the 20% of privates from the non-privates. The hard part will be deciding if a new customer will be in that 20%. Until they prove they want to be in that 20% I suggest you stay focused on the 20% that take you private because that is where 80% of your income is derived.
To extend that to relationships in your life. Take a look at the people who make you happy. Usually about 20% of the people in our lives make us happy, the other 80% are a headache. Deal with that and you will change your life for the better.
