So there was a post made earlier today about how everyone on this site is addicted to porn and it's the cause of the deterioration of the mental health of this country. They then proceeded to list a bunch of links to addiction websites at the end of their post. While in the course of typing this reply (I do all my typing in Word first, because too many of my posts get deleted because the computer is... well.. a computer!), the admin removed the post (with good reason). Since I have already typed it out I decided to post it anyway because it sorta pricked a nerve with me and I feel the right to defend what I do. Since the post is gone I quoted some of the argument in all CAPS. I know I shouldn't even open the floodgates on this one, 'cause this poster is just doing a “ruffle the feathers” kind of thread but...
I'm glad that this poster clearly knows what they're talking about. While, yes, in the pornography industry there have been many documented cases of women being abused, battered and some instances there have been deaths, this site is totally different. For starters you're talking about two different types of adult entertainment. In those cases there have been producers and directors who push the woman to do things they do not want to do for periods of time they do not want to do it with a blatant disregard for the woman's well being. And that sort of shit happens in every industry it's just more predominate in porn. Probably for a lot of reasons, but none more than the fact that people already give it a bad name so any publicity is bad publicity. I've seen many women get manipulated in different industries, but the funny thing is it's usually the women doing the manipulating at a lot of these places so they can get what they want (But alas poor, poor women all the time)! On this site it is the models discretion to do whatever they want, that's why there are so many different types of models on here. Ever heard a model tell someone they won't do something? I have, but they are not being forced to do things they wouldn't want to do normally. And if they don't like what they are doing from a moral perspective, they can get off line; no one's forcing them to stay. If you're not getting it quite yet, let me sum this first paragraph up for you: No One Is Getting Abused Or Mistreated On This Site.
This is an interaction with models similar to whom you might find in your own hometown and probably doing the same things on here that they would in their personal lives. If that's a crime then why don't you add a link about the problems of social interaction to your self help section.
“IF YOU'RE NOT ADDICTED YET, YOU WILL BE”
Any sort of addiction can lead to criminal activity. Since you seem so concerned about our well being and you're already in the real world, do you mind listing some links for the following as well:
-drug addiction
-alcoholism
-video game addiction
-obesity
-anorexia
-bulimia
-prescription narcotic dependency
-gambling
No one I know has died from excessive masturbation, but there have been documented deaths for every single addiction I listed above. Yes, porn does alter chemicals in your brain because of the sexual energy they provide, but here's the fun thing.. they are the same chemicals that are altered while engaging in sex! So while we're at it why don't we just go ahead and ban all sexual activity everywhere because there is the potential for someone to commit a crime. Is it possible to ban human nature?
Everything you do on a regular basis can be considered an addiction on some level, but the majority of them are controlled addictions. If this is how someone wants to spend their money than so be it, who am I to tell someone how to live their life? Your case is being made for the few people that have a serious problem. When you start using the exceptions as the rule, then you can make an argument for just about every activity a person does as being harmful in some way. The only “problem” that could come from this site would be from people that are on here spending money that they should be saving for rent or food and such, then yes those people have a problem, but as I stated above they are the exceptions, and not the rule.
“PORN ADDICTS DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME DEFENDING YOURSELVES AS YOU'RE ARGUMENT WILL BE POINTLESS SINCE YOU'RE ALREADY ADDICTED”
This is my favorite part of your entire post and my favorite thing about activists in general: closed mindedness. You expect others on here to listen to your point of view and take your advice but you yourself are not open to listening to the side that you are bashing. You think you have the final say because you have a stance on something. You wanna know what though? You talk about the “COUNTRY WIDE MENTAL HEALTH BREAKDOWN” that's going on, you can go ahead and put people like yourselves right on that list. Of all the problems in this country it's usually the activists that cause the most problems and the most criminal activity – but we can justify that because you're doing it for a “good cause”. So let me get this straight.. since we are playing the exceptions to the rule game: Burning abortion clinics , destroying churches and beating gay people is OK, while spending money to rub one out is NOT OK? Through you're post I'm glad I understand now that this site is leading to the deterioration of my health. Good thing you caught me in time too... I was beginning to think that when I go visit Kimee's room later it'll actually make my day a little more enjoyable.
