I had alot of problems with this. Ended up that I was going to have to suck it up and get windows, which requires boot camp to operate....and then its risky because they don't recommend using the internet when your running windows on your mac because it puts your mac at risk for viruses (which is half the reason I am a mac user). In the end I just used a laptop I had that was running a windows os.
Hi dear, okay 1st myth I need to answer for you is a Mac is more secure then a windows pc, not true, both are just as prone if not setup correctly, also you can run windows fine on a mac with boot camp and all you need to to is install a virus checker , something like norton also to update windows to the latest updates and install also windows defender and you're good to go.
Also i'm guessing your internet router will have a built in firewall too, that is very common now that all routers come with them built in..
So the security aspect of running a mac in windows is exactly he same as running a mac in os-x, same there you need to install a virus checker .. the myth they like you to believe at apple is it's more secure .. ummm yes sure just like their unbreakable Iphone

.. Don't believe the hype from computer companies it's all lies, therr is no such thing ever that is secure.. Everything can be reverse engineered and with enough time broken.
Yes VS does not seem to provide mac support on the performer application which is basically due to not many users really using a mac also they would have to program the performer application for the mac, which might be worth them doing if it is easy enough just to port it over and fine tune it to work.
