Yes the dazzle will work with any device that gives a video signal out , eg.. dvd player, portable video devices with output and camcorders..
Also the composite is fine too it will work with that too, just wondering have you tested the camera on a t.v and made sure it is giving a video out on the composite ?
Also you may need to go into the dazzle settings and make sure it is set to composite for the input .
The dazzle drivers are on the cd that came with the dazzle, all you have to do is install them from there and any other software they bundle there for you to record and edit etc. (i'm guessing you installed the drivers from the cd if the performer application sees the dazzle, I hope windows update did not try to add the drivers from the microsoft page.. sometimes windows will try get the drivers from microsoft site ... which is not always a good thing and sometimes the microsoft drivers are not right for the device ).
What I would do
1st is test the camera on a t.v via the composite connectors.
2nd uninstall the logitech 9000 drivers and any software that was for that camera just incase it is causing come conflict in the system. (make sure camera is unplugged when you uninstall the drivers)
To uninstall the drivers you need to go to Control panel > Add remove programs > and then in the list there try find the drivers for the logitech and any software related to that camera and remove it.
3rd re-install the drivers from the cd that came with the dazzle and the software bundle. The software bundle will help you test the dazzle with their software just to make sure all is right or you could use movie maker or the performer application to test if it sees the video too, but that way you will have more programs to test with.
Try that above 1st dear and see if that helps, make sure the camera is really giving out a video via the t.v you may find you need to check the manual and enable the composite ports on the camcorder 1st, the manual will explain how to hook it up to a t.v and if you need to enable the composite ports on the camera.. sometimes the composite ports are 2 way and can be used to not just output but input .. you want to make sure they output video.. Input option is for recording onto the camera from say a dvd player or another camera. If you see a picture on the t.v it means it's set right for the dazzle.
