i always highlight and copy my responses before i send them regardless, just in case it times out or says that the body is blank. then i can just right click and paste the email again if need be. kinda like what kate said above only this method doesn't require you to open up a word processing program. i do this in my normal emails as well and you'd be amazed how many times this has saved me from retyping a long message!
