while it's fun to put images in the forums, the fact that some people haven't yet figured out how to make them smaller than a billboard is kind of annoying! while we understand how to embed an image lets take a minute to talk about sizing one.

ok, when you find an image on the internet that you want to post in the forums you need to find its size first.

in google chrome you right click on the image and then click 'open image in new tab'

in firefox you right click on the image and then click 'view image'

in internet explorer you right click on the image and then click 'properties'

at the top of the window (or in the properties box) it will say the image size is #x# and if the image is so large that it won't all fit it will also say 'scaled' next to it.

if you don't define the height and width of an image it appears at it's full size when you embed it in the forum. any image over 500 width or 600 height will appear too big for smaller screens and thus part of the image will appear off screen. if the image is smaller than that by itself then you won't need to re-size it and can post it as is.

however if the image is too large you should modify it to fit, just make sure you reduce the same percentage of height as you do width. remember: making an image smaller will not distort the quality, but if you try to make a little image bigger it will get blurry and look bad. to do this you will use this code and remember to replace the {} with <>.

{img src="http://www.yourimage.com" height="x" width="x"}

remember, larger images take way longer to load in browsers and you don't want to clog up all your time loading images in the forums!

Best thing is to resize the image before uploading it to a size about a max of 600 x 480 pixels on some graphics application like microsoft paint or photo shop or any other and remember to save it in a jpg/jpeg format.

Or you can use http://imageshack.us/ and you can set the image to resize there when you upload it, again 600 x 480 is a good max size guys and girls anything too large is only going to annoy people and make it load really slow for people on slow connections.

Regards

Nabil

you need to use the following (img src='INSERT INFO HERE' /)

but replace the () with <> and put the address of the image where it says INSETR INFO HERE

The requested URL /user-images/7142/7142889-M-O.jpg was not found on this server.

Well this thread is now as redundant as a Screen door on a submarine thanks to the site now stopping us from adding any creative additions to the forums - eg different colour text, images, text formatting or videos.

Gee thanks for that site bosses.
