ozzieboy4u yes it's now 1 credit for non vips for the cheapest gift. I think you know why this came in, because of the abuse of the gifts system. I think it needs to be like this to keep the gifts system operating in a way that is right for all. I have to say I'm happy to see that come in and I feel sorry for the non-vips that didn't abuse it.

I was going to actually email flirt4free and say to stop the free gifts and this will stop the abuse of it and if the vips again will abuse it with the free gifts that are available to them i'm guessing flirt4free will make them a pay to gift too. So I hope the vips don't abuse it and lose a feature that can become part of their vip package.

Ok i see there point of view but now us non vip members have to at least buy 300 credits if we want to send our fave model a gift. personaly i think there should be a Sepearate way of purchasing credit for gifts. So you dont have to purchase a full 300 credits just to send gifts. :twocents

Good idea, maybe they can add a feature to maybe buy smaller amounts of tokens.. maybe starting from 120 tokens for it to be worth them doing. 120 credits 2 mins private as you know.

Should have never been any free gifts in the first place.Anyone can give something to someone that they didn't have to pay for and when everyone is giving the same thing there is no meaning to it at all.You think models honestly care about getting 8000 free hugs? lol not likely,would be like finding a necklace in the street and telling your gf you found it but that you are giving it to her from your heart :orglaugh

I think as long as they've taken away free gifts for regular members, there should be NO FREE GIFTS available to any members, including VIPS. I have seen where several of the models have page after page after page of the exact same "FREE GIFTS" with the exact same text from one or two individuals to perpetrate some type of imagined "gift contest?"

Since models get nothing for free gifts, (as far as I know) but may in fact get some type of remittance for credits spent on other gifts, there is no real point to free gifts, unless perhaps they were limited to no more than one per day from any member as a little "Hello, I'm thinking of you" type greeting for models (or members) to one another.

I'm not sure, if this was the reason for the abuse... A free gift can be sent once i 1 hour. The gift-spamming with 10 or 20 gifts in a row was just possible by paying the gifts...

So, I think that this step will not solve the problem. It just will make members (non-vips) sad and dissatisfied...

Oz you can still send hugs and kiss, just send an message through the f4f mail system and include the images there:

1 Go to gift you want to give
2 Right click image and select 'Copy Image Location' (firefox, hope IE something like that too)
3 When writing message click on image button (third button from the right)
4 paste (Ctrl-V) the just copied image address and make sure there is only 1 http:// sequence at the beginning.
5 Add personal message and send.

Apparantly, now VIP can send as many free gift as one wish, no more limited number of free gifts per hour lol.

I hope that the non-vips will get the free gifts back with a limit of something like 3 gifts per day to I dunno 5 models of their choice. Maybe if like ozzie thay have 1 specific favourite model then a registered user can have the model designated as a gift-favourite. then that model can recieve 5 gifts per day instead of 3 but the other 4 models in the limit can only get 1.

I used to be a VIP member once upon a time, but slowly but sure Flirt has taken away many of the perks VIP's once had. It seems the only real advantage is being able to send attachments through their mail system. Needless to say its not enough for me to be VIP anymore. And now they're charging to send the gifts for non-VIPs? I predict the gift exchange won't last very long.

The gift program has become a joke and it being abused every way it can be by members who are here for their own vanity and delusions of self importance.

Instead of spending time with models, members are not fighting over which gifts are free, who has the right to send free gifts and how often they are or should be allow to do so.

The models are here to earn a living, PERIOD! Sending one or a thousand virtual gifts might be nice for a little while, but in the end, they are here to earn an honest living and have some fun along the way with good memebers that treat them well in both open and private chat.

The more perks that non-VIP members are given, the less VIP members there will be, which hurts the models (and yes the web masters); unless you are paying something to be here, you have no reason to take a model private and all these virtual gifts are for your own image & nothing else.

i was unaware there was a competition going on until i've witnessed some models and members begging for gifts to be sent so the model can move up the list. i believe that's where the abuse started coming in to play. i think eliminating the part on the gift giving feed where it lists the top models receiving gifts would help eliminate the people sending a billion gifts too. setting a limit on the free gifts to maybe five a day would probably not be a bad idea either.. remember the best things in life ARE free unless they're abused and insincere.

i have used the gift giving option numerous times since it's been here, but the majority of my gifts have been purchased with credits as i think it shows you care a bit more - i'm all about the quality as opposed to quantity. i think sending someone a virtual hug every hour, on the hour with the message being a smiley face loses its sincerity after a while, but hey.. that could just be me. as i've mentioned in other threads, i also support the idea of buying a lesser amount of credits simply to allow users to purchase gifts. the models do receive money for the gifts, similar to the income a vod provides, so there is a reason to keep them. for those bashing the whole idea of gifts, it is just one more thing that helps set flirt apart as the premiere adult chat website. if you don't like the gifts then don't send them, but there is no need in going around pissing in every else's cheerios simply because you have a difference in opinion.

that being said, i think it's great that vip's do get a discount on gifts as well. if you're going to pay thirty extra bucks a month then it's nice to see flirt giving a little more incentive to become one! :thumbsup

I have an idea :bulb

For every 5 mins in private with a model, that member is given a gift voucher ( free ) with certain amount of gift credits to send whatever gift he likes to whoever he likes. This way, Flirt kinda shows the appreciation of members who spend time with their favourite model in private.

At the same time, take away all the free gifts. So members who go pvt can still basically send gifts for free. This system seems to be more fair to everyone, VIP or not.
