It's due to the name of the site. It's why I called it yet. Ever play Trivia Pursuit?

That is what this is. It is except for F4F members & models.

This can also be fun. It is basically the same rules as regular Trivia Pursuit.

Each person can ask a question. It can be about what one knows the answer to.

Or it can be a personal question. Some questions may have two parts.

It is like the first question I am about to throw out. It is the first to get it right.

That one gets to ask the next question. And so on & so forth.

How many continents are there in the world? And name each continent.

Fighting on the different fronts ended at different times.

Perhaps the last victims of the war for the US were three Marines killed on Guam in an 8 December 1945 ambush. The German forces surrendered in Italy on the 29th of April, on the Western Front on the 7th of May, and on the Eastern Front on the 8th. In Prague, however, the remnants of the German army continued to fight until the 11th. Hitler's death did not end WWII for Germany and Japanese forces didn't all surrender on August 15th.

In the Pacific, isolated units and individuals were either not aware of the Emperor's Declaration or became determined to fight on. These were the Holdouts, some of whom continued the war for decades. The Japanese Army in Manchuria surrendered to the Soviets on 22 August 1945. Burma was surrendered on 27 August 1945. The Imperial Japanese surrender of the Phillipene Islands was made on 2 September 1945. Hong Kong was surrrendered on 16 September 1945.

For Teruo Nakamura the war ended with his capture in Indonesia in 1974.

No mention of Antonio Meucci :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh

What was his name again...
Jack O'Leary is responsible for putting the bop in there. He is also credited with putting the ram in the ram-a, lam-a ding dong. And no Suggs, contrary to popular belief, he did not put the fun into funerals or cadavers. :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh

BTW: The Middle East is not a continent, and as a term can be as contentious as the region it identifies. It's not a precise geographical area like Europe or Africa. It's not a political or economic alliance like the European Union. It's not even an agreed-upon term by the countries that constitute it. It's not even a term Middle Easterners gave themselves, but a British term borne of a colonial, European perspective. The term's origins are seeped in controversy for having originally been a European imposition of geographic perspective according to European spheres of influence. East from where? From London. Why "Middle"? Because it was half-way between the United Kingdom and India, the Far East.

For a time, the "Near East" was the term used for the Levant--Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Jordan--while "Middle East" applied to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran. The American perspective lumped the region into one basket, giving more credence to the general term "Middle East."

By most accounts the earliest reference to the "Middle East" occurs in a 1902 edition of the British journal National Review, in an article by Alfred Thayer Mahan entitled "The Persian Gulf and International Relations." The term gained common usage after it was popularized by Valentine Chirol, a turn-of-the-century correspondent for the London times in Tehran. Arabs themselves never referred to their region as the Middle East until the colonial usage of the term became current and stuck.

The term camel hair is very misleading. Camel hair brushes actually consist of various inexpensive hair types like asian pony, bear, sheep or lesser grade squirrel hair. There is not a single hair from a real camel in a camel hair brush.

According to Wikipedia..."A continent is one of several large landmasses on Earth. They are generally identified by convention rather than any strict criterion, with seven regions commonly regarded as continents – they are (from largest in size to smallest): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia." I only counted 7 unless they changed it.

What is/was the Proclamation of Neutrality?

The Proclamation of Neutrality was issued by George Washington on April 22, 1793

Washington's cabinet members agreed that neutrality was essential; the nation was too young and its military too small to risk any sort of engagement with either France or Britain. Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson in particular, saw in this question, as well as in the other twelve, the influence of the Federalists, his political rivals; yet he too agreed a proclamation was in order, though perhaps not an official one.

In a cabinet meeting of January 14 Thomas Jefferson argued that while neutrality was a sine qua non, there was no real need to make a Proclamation of Neutrality either immediately, or even officially; perhaps there might be no need for an official declaration at all. The United States could declare its neutrality for a price, Jefferson intimated, "Why not stall and make countries bid for [American] neutrality?"[1] In response, Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton declared that American neutrality was not negotiable.

On April 22, 1793 President Washington formally issued the Neutrality Proclamation. Washington appeased Jefferson's insistence by removing the word "neutrality" from the document itself, but that action had no effect on its meaning or intent, nor on its destiny to be known as the Proclamation of Neutrality

How do they get the caramel into the Caramilk bar ?

Quite simple and the only real trick to it is that the bars are made upside down.
They begin with a mold of a Caramilk bar which they place upside down, they pour some chocolate into it, enough to create a layer but still have a little pocket. The chocolate cools, then they pour caramel into the mold, they cool the caramel, and then pour the rest of the chocolate.

I only made it down to Suggs question before I was laughing so hard that I had write something.

To start, my 8 y.o. niece knows the Middle East is not a continent (but she was within ten words of reading at a 5th grade level when she started kindergarten). If the Middle East were a continent - how come you forgot the Indian sub-continent as a continent (the Indian sub-continent is part of the asian continent in case you are wondering)? The Middle East a continent - hilarious!

Then Suggs put the biggest trick question ever - when did WW2 OFFICIALLY end. Am I the only one who realized that was a trick question? Anyone who ever took a basic college history class should know that all treaties and declarations to end hostilities of WW2 have yet to be signed. It is impossible to find any proof that Russia (or the former Soviet Union) and Japan have signed any sort of document to end hostilities. Japan and Russia have -NEVER- signed a treaty to officially end their hostilities towards each other (Kuril Islands anyone?).

Knowledge is a dangerous thing!
The forums provide a laugh when I need one!

Regardless of the highly technical and trivial (lol) arguements:
It is commonly held that the Instrument of Surrender documents signed by JAPANESE Foreign Minister Mamoru Shigemitsu, on behalf of the Japanese Government, aboard the deck of the American battleship USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, ended the war.

.
.
Back to the question at hand:

What is the speed of Ketchup being left to drip out of a bottle in MPH ?

** And the official ending of WW2 was actually when The berlin Wall finally fell unifying East and West Germany to become the Germany it is today - which is the country that war was declared upon in 1939, Germany had been split into east and west BEFORE the peace accord was signed by all other countries involved. **
