Normal etiquette would call for a model to say hello whenever someone enters her room. Obviously this is not possible for EVERYONE, but more importantly -- I find a lot of people do NOT like it at ALL. I made a joke about it tonight that out of all the non talkers.. if I were to name a few of them, guaranteed they would leave! And so they did.

This was mentioned in the other forum -- so I thought I would bring it here.

Do you prefer a model say hello when you enter? Or do you prefer to stay in the dark? And if you prefer to stay in the dark, why is it?

I know a lot of guys like to "Get a feel for the model" , which is fine (Even though i'm pretty sure that is why we have VODs..... hehe)..... but even still, sometimes people will just hang around for a VERY LONG TIME.. I don't get it!

Especially when it's a quiet time in the room, and you.. as a register or VIP could just say hello, spark a convo and we can brighten each other's day!!

Don't be shy guys...

If I already know the model then it's not important who says hello first

But if I'm in a model's room for the first time, I don't think it's necessary for the model to say hello immediately I enter her room. I do like to "get a feel for the model" which might involve observing her chat with other members, browsing her reviews, etc. When I'm ready I'll say hello. I never intentionally stay silent for a long time, in my opinion that's rude

But remember that members are not always in your room voluntarily. It's possible for members to get "thrown" to your room on occasions when they are in another room when it closes or if they are in the room of a model who takes a break for more than 5 minutes. On occasions when a model takes a break I will go to the bathroom or the kitchen, and return to the computer to find myself in the room of a model I don't know, being quizzed on why I am not chatting with her. Rather than try to explain, I usually just leave

It's very awkward when you're sent to another model's room - if the model goes on break the system will send you to another model's room. If the model you're talking to has internet trouble, your page will send you an error message and then you're sent to another model's room. And when a model quickly says, "hi amicu!", you're left with either quietly making an exit, which is rude, or explaining that you were in another model's room and automatically sent here and you really didn't want to be in her room to begin with, which is ruder yet.

Before I knew any models, I preferred the rooms where I could quietly watch the chat experience for a little while, to see if it's a room I would like to stay in and see if the model is someone I'd like to spend time with. As soon as the model starts directly talking to me, I have to reply back, and I'm initiated, before I even know whether this is a girl I'd like to talk to or one of many who is trying to get me into a private within five minutes or figures I'm wasting her time. So there's a very strong incentive to quietly "feel out the room", and see, is this a model I can talk to and enjoy her company, and periodically go private with, or is she the one who pounces on me to take her private lest I waste her time. 10 times out of 10, I prefer the previous. If she doesn't say, "hi amicu, how are you?" or "Talk to me amicu." or more often still "Stop touching yourself and type amicu", I have a minute or two to see if she's somebody I would like to spend time with. And I'll say hi. Or join in the conversation. At least, not be the silent one in the back of the room.

Yes, it's polite to say hello and welcome someone to your room. But it's even better to wait for the guy to make the first move, especially on a site such as this - if he's not talking to you, he probably has some valid reason. Maybe his hands are tied up at the moment, or he's timid, or he's been kicked into your room, or he's the creepy heavy breathing I'm in the bushes type. Or he just wants to see if he likes you.

You are right ms Scarlett about greeting visitors. It is a pity (in my way of thinking) but for a model to play it safe.. not greeting a visitor into your room until they say something to you first would be the way to go. I do not believe that i have read any complains about models not saying hello to someone when they entered a room. I myself will always say hi back to a model when they greet me and i don't think anything about a model that does not greet me untill i say hello first.

I am fairly junior to the site - 2 1/2 months. So I like to be quiet for a while to learn. Yes, I like to say "hi" to the models, but more importantly for me is to get a feel for the room first. Once I am comfortable, I will choose to enter by saying "hi" or "hru". I sometimes stay for 5 minutes to do this. If I am being rude, please tell me. It is not intentionally rude, just my practice.

I don't mind a model saying hello but some "pounce" on you the second you enter a room. Sometimes I am just popping thru rooms and maybe don't wanna strike up a convo so maybe its better to wait a few minutes to say anything.

How you greet is another arrow in your quiver of tricks.

If you know someone well from previous pvts and you start sometimes with a "well, look who's here!!" you can convey many nice things.

But variety is the spice of life. So I hope nobody feels hemmed in by some ritualistic courtesies. But rather sees just one more way to apply womanly wiles. heh heh

I always greet people as they enter my room but I don't like to hound them about talking (unless as you said Scarlett no one else is talking, then it's sort of like - um...yeah, hi...I see you there...is my audio working? Can you even hear me? Am I talking to myself? haha). On occasion I'll say hi or how are you more than once but the sole reason for this is I just want to make sure that they can actually hear me and don't want them to think I'm rude for not saying hello. I'm the exact same way in real life - I'm not exactly the shy girl that sort of nods when you walk into a room and waits for you to start a conversation - I'm more of a "heeeeyyyyy what's up!!!!" type of girl hehe (I think anybody who's been to my room knows this).

If the person doesn't answer straight away I sort of get the picture that they don't want to chat and let them just hang until they're comfortable. Sometimes it sort of is a little weird though...when somebody comes into your room every single day for weeks at a time, never joins in the chat (whether it's busy or slow), never says hello, they obviously by this time know a lot about me and I know nothing about them...it honestly makes it feel a little awkward.

Yeah, I have guys that just hang around with me and never ever did say a hello. Sometimes i send them an email, maybe they are shy and virgin?.... one guy was soooo sweet, he reply in the email that he thought it was hard 4 me to talk and please everyone and he didn't want to disturb me.... how sweet is that. Then there is another guy that leave F4F is the back at his work.
As in real life is hard for men to begin a conversation.

i wait til a guy says hello before i say hello back. sometimes i notice a guy in my room for a while and he says hello later. and sometimes i see a favorite and just wait until he speaks to me, a lot of my favorites are shy

i think it looks kinda desperate when a girl says hi the instant a guy coems in. it means she's watching the list and can't keep guys in her room. I look at my list once in a while to see if people are still in there when they haven't talked in a while, but i try to avoid scrolling around searching for names if i can just talk to guys that are writing to me.

I prefer give me 2 minutes for chat to load and see what is happening

Sometimes the model is "sealing the deal " to get a private and I prefer NOT to speak and come back later .

It is rude not to say hello . If the model ansers "Hello I'm horny " - I do sometimes leave .
I still usually say goodbye and have a great day/shift .

New models often say hello BEFORE my chat loads . I have a delay of 5 - 20 seconds before chat fully loads if I have other programs open .

Models - keep up the great work

Oh I don't pounce guys when they come in-- as I said, it's really hard to keep track of everyone coming and going so I don't really bother.

It's more so when the room is dead and I see some people sitting there for 30 min to an hour or longer.. just there...even then, I do not say anything to them.

That was my point in the original post -- I made a joke of it last night where I said hello to a few guys who had been hanging out for a long time.. and I knew they would log out -- and they immediately did. I'm a reserved type of person... however by no means shy or anti social. I am an "observer" type -- but when the time calls for it, I am not afraid to be loud

Also.. with guys just being shy or wanting to get to know me -- after 30 minutes don't you think you could even whisper? lol... ask questions or something if you want to get to know us! hmm :P

And carmin -- if you call people out regularly, it seems to work for you so who knows!

I always wait for the member to say Hi first. Sometimes I do get tempted to call their name out, like if they have been in my room for a really long time...but I never do. I figure, if they want to talk to me, they will. I do wonder why some members are so shy and quiet.

But the "to get to know the girl" thing seems kind of ehh? How do you get to know someone by watching her in her room? If I look bored, it's because the people i'm talking to are yawnnn! You never know how someone will act with you until YOU talk to them.

You wouldn't date someone who you just "Watch" from afar... -- you have to get to know them personally! Because as soon as you do date them they can become someone totally different. Same with marriage, or even on f4f!!

I tend to close site down if I am gonna be AFK -- even for a minute or two. but when I am transferred into a new room I like to wait a bit to say hi - just to try and get a small hook on the chat 1st.

Im not talking about guys who are in there for even 5 minutes

Im talking about guys who sit for 30+ minutes.. that isnt AFK -- thats what im talking about. They arent afk if after I say their name after 40 minutes, they leave lol

Not all of us are socially well adjusted, or even have a sense of confidence with a beautiful woman, and how many times do you ladies get the "where are you from", how old are you, etc questions? Does one more time answering the same question really make a difference. I admit to being a lurker, but I do take models private when I am comfortable with them.

I normally do not stay in a room if I'm called out after being there for a minute or less, and there are still alot of ladies jumping right to the take me pvt line. A number of models work in the same studios, and share info on potential customers so some of the old tiimers here may have a tendency to keep quiet until they are more comfortable with the lady. Its a simple matter to keep me out of your room if my being quiet bothers you, just ask me to leave and I won't return. I'm sure that many others would respect that, while others would call you rude, it is however your room, if you don't want someone lingering without saying hello, maybe make a blanket statement to that fact, then your not singling out anyone.
