There are some tools on this site who love to stir up trouble between nations.

I would like for this community to have a zero tolerance for any jokes about other people's homelands.

If you feel that somebody is being a jerk. Then let him know that he is a jerk on his own merits. Don't drag in the millions of other unrelated people in your insult. Some of the people you hit in your punch probably feel the same way you do about the said jerk.

Learn always to think first of people as individuals instead of as ambassadors for their respective nations.

When I am here I don't want to hear about politics. Or real life in any sense. But if some thug starts making these kind of jokes, I want him quashed. Immediately. Give him the same tracer bullet approach that some jerk in free chat gets when he starts abusing a model.

As we get used to this we will learn how to do this in the most appropriate way. Recently I was so furious at one of these losers that I dropped a nuclear bomb where a mere bb gun would have sufficed. Allowing him to cry about my brutality.

But let's not let these people, probably most likely young, inexperienced, or just thoughtless individuals have their unacceptable practices reinforced by a 'let's not notice policy'. We can be perverts with some set of basic manners that extend beyond merely treating the models properly.

By the way, I think it is especially worthwhile for anyone who feels remotely the same way to add your voice to the chain. Because frankly, I am not sure if I am in the majority on this. As much as I hate to think it, maybe the majority is happy to let people take any old kind of swipe they like and let whatever crowd happens to be present in a room, or forum thread work it out on their own.

I think we need to have a policy myself. Because I haven't been seeing the right outcome too often in these cases. Also we need to get in the habit of defending people from countries other than ours. Getting involved the same way we all unite to protect a model from a crowd of jerks no matter what country that model is from, or whether she is a favorite of ours.

It is also good to hear your voice on this because I am also not one of the godlike beings that have spawned other threads. Who have the force of their long experience and stellar records. My tenure has been shorter and my reputation is what it is, lol.

So please throw a punch for the individual . Here's a chance.

I don't know how about other but I have never been offended by any guy because of my origin

When I say Im from Eastern Europe I very often hear: Cool, Nice, Wow, Yeah, OMG Great and so on, and so on... I think that european girls are exotic for US guys in a good meaning of that word and rather a advantage than disdvantage. When I hear jokes that Im from Korea or China I laugh only because thet are only good friends picking on my look :winkwink

And saying that for example Our beer is better than yours is rather teasing than insulting anyone.

Its interesting rather to compare differences between our cultures and not to pretend they dont exisit.
Being different is sooo interesting. And when I say Oh wow, u are form US, it means rather I wanna know you, you are so different than me - and dont mean Wow I prefer that country or another one.

This is a good point. Yeah you don't have to pretend differences don't exist. In fact as you've said they are part of the fun.

You are of course always welcome to poke fun, if it is with a warm good heart, at small, innocent things. Like the color of a country's beer.

The kind of thing I am talking about primarily are the abusive jokes or comments. Mean-spirited. Divisive. Where one group of people tries to humiliate, abuse, stigmatize, or scapegoat another. They are usually stated in some simple form like: we hate country x. Or even worse, we hate people x.

I would also extend it to merely preachy things. It is often true, for example, that a person is not interested in your opinion of their national leader. You are welcome to give it if it is asked for. But we don't come here to be reminded of what is going on at home. We come here to escape it usually. There are other places for that discussion.

The whole point is to see people as just people. Not as some cog of a national machine.

I strongly disagree. I don't want censorship. The reason that you opened a can of worms in the other thread is because you went off on a crusade against someone as equally stubborn. I apologise if you take that personally, but that is just how I read it. You both had plenty of valid points I am sure, but after the first few novellas you posted, I lost the will to read them.

There are lots of differences between nations and nationalities and most of them are trivial and no real consequence, except that they will pique the curiosity of those interested. There are others which are more pronounced, and in chat, I would leave the performer to decide on what she/ he allows. They may be fascinated and be interested in such a topic. Though probably not very often, as I cannot see (for example), a socio-political analysis of the FSU with regards to NATO's wooing of formerly comunist nations in central Europe raising the horniness factor that most shows require... unless maybe Noam Chomsky might take a 2 hour private show, but I would not think many would be turned on. :winkwink

This is a site geared towards adult entertainment, and that may include a smattering of intelligent conversation. (I apologise now to the models for my non-intelligence in conversation.)

Having said that, we all have a right to defend ourselves and our own nation from unfair attacks as we see them. I would imagine there are far more suitable places to go debate this on the internet than F4F, so a wise man wouldn't bring it up in the first place here in a negative way. But as for straight censorship and banning of any such talk? I find it worrying and disturbing.

I second the previous poster 100%.

I just wanted to add to the point of self defense:
It is fully OK to defend yourself but if do that by accusing some one of being a Nazi, you going overboard. The moment you used that argument you became in my opinion worse then person of the original remark.

PS: I'm in the opinion that attacking a single person with unfounded and/or hurtful remarks is just as bad as assigning a bad trait of one person to a whole group/country.

It was a tactical error to be sure. I let my fury get the best of me. I promise it won't happen again.

As for what it did to my argument and the result: Well, I don't worry too much. That dude strikes me as being a thug. Someone who gets off on hurting other people. I am sure he'll shoot off his mouth a number of times again in the future. Piss off a few more people. Then who knows maybe he'll learn and become a better citizen.

It will just take a little more time because we don't have nuns and rulers in place to whack naughty knuckles.

But this thread isn't meant to be a continuation of an argument with that irksome fellah mentioned in the previous few posts.

This is a thread for the future. How you want your community to be.

We've had a couple of recent votes in for unlimited freedom, it that the majority view?

There is no model policing a room in the case of the forum. A user can't leave if the atmosphere turns hostile to some group he happens to be part of. He has to stay and take it.

Or are there any other coping strategies?

In sympathy to the posters responding for the sake of that poor maligned, abused lamb that I slaughtered, here are some lessons learned that I will apply in future attempts to fight for all that is good and right:

1. No nuclear warheads used as opening gambits.

2. I will be brief. I promise to dream up a few concise statements that capture everything instead of novellas. I won't try to get to know the guy. I won't try to get him to change his views. I won't go into detailed apologetics for past errors my group has made.

I will simply tell him what I think of what he is doing and leave it at that.

3. I will respond to all offenders instead of singling him out. So he can't cry about his special treatment.

4. I will respond even if someone already has responded. So he feels the weight of numbers.

5. I will assume he is simply young and ill-mannered instead of something more sinister.

But I assure you he will always get a response. Bigotry shall never be tolerated under any circumstance.

Not in my universe.

This brings up a point. Suppose that someone does blow it, in their fury and makes the error I made.

You are free to blast both of us.

You don't have to look at it as an argument with a winner. This is no argument. It is chastisement for bad behavior.

If we both behave badly, by all means, chastise us both.

Some of these thugs think they can throw punches at the 'unpopular' nations. Because 'everyone' agrees with their pathetic view and ham-fisted approach.

In such a case, it is especially important to show that this ugly behavior is not to be tolerated for anyone's homeland.

Or maybe you really do support these kind of divisive, hateful statements? They have some redeeming value?
