poetry for this beautiful day

You are that person that gives light and color to my gave, are the razon of my to be, elevate me to him but highly, and do me atrizar in a sea of pleasure, of the one that alone I can drink.

There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
and words inviting...
There was a time when love was blind
and the world was a song
and the song was exiting.....
There was a time...

Then it all went wrong....
I dreamed a dream of times gone by
When hope was high and
life worth living.
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
and dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No sung unsung no wine untasted...
But the tigers come at night......
With their voices as soft as thunder
As their tear your hopes apart
and they turn your dreams to shame....

He slept a summer by my side...
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my youth in his stride
but he was gone when autumn came.....
I still dream he'll come to me
That we'll live the years together.....
But there are dreams that can not be
and there are storms we cannot weather...
I had a dream my life would be
So different from the Hell I'm living...
So different now from what is seemed....

Now...life has killed....
The dream I dreamed......

The Ballad of the Lonely Masturbator

BY ANNE SEXTON

The end of the affair is always death.
Shes my workshop. Slippery eye,
out of the tribe of myself my breath
finds you gone. I horrify
those who stand by. I am fed.
At night, alone, I marry the bed.

Finger to finger, now shes mine.
Shes not too far. Shes my encounter.
I beat her like a bell. I recline
in the bower where you used to mount her.
You borrowed me on the flowered spread.
At night, alone, I marry the bed.

Take for instance this night, my love,
that every single couple puts together
with a joint overturning, beneath, above,
the abundant two on sponge and feather,
kneeling and pushing, head to head.
At night alone, I marry the bed.

I break out of my body this way,
an annoying miracle. Could I
put the dream market on display?
I am spread out. I crucify.
My little plum is what you said.
At night, alone, I marry the bed.

Then my black-eyed rival came.
The lady of water, rising on the beach,
a piano at her fingertips, shame
on her lips and a flutes speech.
And I was the knock-kneed broom instead.
At night, alone, I marry the bed.

She took you the way a woman takes
a bargain dress off the rack
and I broke the way a stone breaks.
I give back your books and fishing tack.
Todays paper says that you are wed.
At night, alone, I marry the bed.

The boys and girls are one tonight.
They unbutton blouses. They unzip flies.
They take off shoes. They turn off the light.
The glimmering creatures are full of lies.
They are eating each other. They are overfed.
At night, alone, I marry the bed.

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

Akin to my sentiments
for horses and games,
I fear I find poetry
incredibly lame.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sounds the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

If you haven't figured it out yet, Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets. :thumbsup

Ok here's one of my all time favorite poems. I have no desire now to go back to the rovers life but I'm sure after a few more years of Retirement I'll be thinking about that life. Don't worry It's not Robert Frost.

Sea Fever
By John Masefield

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheels kick and the winds song and the white sails shaking,
And a grey mist on the seas face, and a grey dawn breaking,

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gulls way and the whales way where the winds like a whetted KNlFE;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long tricks over.
