Are VS Media and other sites in the webchat business doing anything to help and protect their male models based in Russia during this troubling time of oppressive laws and lawlessness?

I don't get what VS could even do... ? I mean seriously

Caveats just suck so don't go tossing them my way, i enjoy them broiled with butter an lemon, but the left over ones lose their delicious orange color and get wrinkly and mushy.

Joe Smiley's comment, "I don't get what VS could even do," is the most sensible comment in this thread. Anyone who believes VS Media could alter the anti-gay policy of the Russian government is delusional. Any objection by VS Media or by anyone else would call government attention to a practice it might otherwise neglect. The better course would be to keep quiet, in the hope that the government's ardor to persecute gays would subside as other issues of greater importance to the nation gained the spotlight. Laws that discriminate against gays should be opposed with reasoned vigor, but Flirt4Free and similar sites should not be mentioned.

Seriously, here are a few things I can think of right now. (Some you would think are common sense and may be what anyone in a repressive society already does. But some people are not necessarily thinking about their own safety.)

1. Put together a pamphlet (maybe with pictures) with the following:
... a. Do not be conspicuous outside the studio on the street.
... b. Dress butch and don't wear jewelry or flash your iPhone or iPad.
... c. Do not walk alone and do not act gay around your friends -- others are watching.
... d. Do not follow the same route to the studio everyday and do not linger outside the studio.
... e. Do not brag about how much (or how little) money you make off the Internet.
... f. DO NOT GIVE OUT personal information online or when surfing the Internet, not even to
... someone you think you can trust.
... g. Do not hook up through social media. It is too dangerous.
2. Provide a special phone number for models to call when they need physical or legal help.
3. Establish a phone tree where models keep in touch with each other in case of emergency.
4. Hire more local security and legal professionals -- that can be trusted.

These are just a few.
And none of the above has anything to do with trying to be an activist to get the laws changed -- which, as pointed out, only draws more of the wrong kind of attention.

I have chatted with many, many Russian models over the years. I can tell you they look out for their safety as they see fit. In recent chats with many Russians they are aware of the law but really don't appear to be all that concerned with it, and I would trust their judgment.

From what I understand regarding the Russian studios, they are used to paying bribes to local authorities to turn the other cheek

Here's a better idea, forget the sarcasm lessons . That's hopeless. Why don't you get some integrity instead? Or at the very least. Pick a fooking side so I know which one to laugh at. WTF is this? Some new asinine hypocrisy? Reverse advocacy? JUSTICE AND EQUALITY! (but only for some.)

Make up your mind: Either be a MooMooky Minion Chatroom Sniper or a Putin-hating Neighborhood Watch Ninny. After that I will proceed accordingly. Until then, your "recommendations" sound straight out of the Closeted Gay Handbook For Boy Scout Pack Leaders. :orglaugh
