I've never been a huge fan of group chats anyway and with the new minimum pledge options, I assumed all the models would just bump it up to 100 credits anyway and forget about ever lowering it. So far, that's all I've seen change besides the pledge times are unbearably long now. So meh. No big loss.

I guess I'm missing exactly what the benefits to the models are supposed to be? They requested these options, but honestly, I just don't get it what's so great about any of the new improvements. Maybe someone will chime in and tell us one way or another.

Okay, the point of the new features is CONTROL. The benefits to the model are totally contingent on how that model uses the new features.

Most of the features seem to be focused on longer group shows (i.e. >20 minutes in length), which are often successful but at times require multiple pledging cycles to reach the goal. That's not the case now. 30 minute pledge cycle, 100 credit minimum, and accepting the pledge amount when it's reasonably close means that I don't have to restart the countdown just to get a small fraction of the remaining goal AND everyone that's in the show is paying what I think is a fair amount for a show of that length and quality.

Basically, the new features weave into the fabric of group chat a few things that were successful hacks of group chat previously. Before I would have to say, "Yeah, I like these long shows and I don't mind if you only pledge 50 credits, but if you really want to make it happen it may take a couple more than that." Or, "This goal is just what I would like to make for the show, but it's not set in stone. Let's just see how close we can get."

If you don't like group chat, that's your business. But I have never seen any downside to the chat type. If the pledge time is too long, consider the amount of time 90% of models spend in open chat. Why not start up a countdown and maybe get a show going? Seems a far better way to spend your time...

Finally, I think of myself less as a Mercedes for your personal use and more as a RV that you buy with friends to take turns in. :orglaugh

I know from your previous posts here that you are a big fan of Group Chat on the performer side. I am a big fan on the member side. It was great before - and it has got even better

Loved the way you picked up the Mercedes reference (I was looking for a parallel myself and couldn't come up with one...hehe)

One of the beauties of Group Chat is that it is so flexible. I have seen the legendary Stefano (10 million credits) do 5 minute Group Chats for 300 or 400 credits just to show off his great body. I have enthused here about top model Alessandro May's sensuous/erotic/dancing/acrobatic 5 minute Group Chats (also for 300 or 400) which are a class apart from the basic sit-and-stroke shows.

Although I shouldn't say so myself, it is good to see members and models in this thread discussing a Flirt4Free topic. Topics about books, films, songs etc can be quite interesting but are often just thinly-disguised self-promotion topics (I'm here, visit me etc)

Those models who add pointless posts on every topic should know that they are just making themselves unpopular. I will also add (with deliberate capitals): I WILL MAKE SURE THAT I NEVER VISIT ANY MODEL WHO DOES NOT POST HERE IN ENGLISH. Any model who does that shows a complete contempt and disregard for all those members and (international) models who use the forums :twocents

One thing the models can do to make the group chat more successful is to make the goal amount more reasonable. I was in a model's room when he started a group chat. His goal was 1000 credits for a 15 minute show. I could go private with him and see a 15 minute show for 900 credits (at the 60 cpm rate), so I did not bother to tip. Another member mentioned to him that his goal was too high for the amount of time offered, but he would not lower the goal amount. Needless to say, nobody tipped, the goal was not met and there was no group chat show.

The point of group chat is not to reach that goal by yourself stud but to pledge, and encourage others to pledge so that combined we all hit the goal and get a great show at a fantastic discount! It does look like others have replied along these lines but thought I would repeat it, because it cant be said enough, tip! One person tipping encourages another, and so on.

15 minute show for 50 credits is pretty much a steal tho!

Back to Group Chat, and another part of the changes which VS announced last week:

- starting with a % of credits already in their tip jar - it works for coffee shops etc., why not for our models?

It appears that models now have a choice. Instead of, say, launching a new group chat for 450 credits with zero in the tip jar they can launch a group chat for 500 with 50 already in the tip jar. This seems like a good idea if it is done properly. I have seen some reluctance by members in being the first to pledge.

However, I have seen a couple of group chats where the target was 660. The minimum pledge was 50 and there was already 60 in the pot. Not sure if odd amounts like that help the pledge process. I would have thought it was best to stick to multiples of the minimum pledge :twocents

Models will now have the ability to be more flexible in their Group Chat setups:

- being able to choose to accept a show even if the total credits aren't reached - this is limited to 3 times in 24 hours

I have seen one or two posts where members have had problems with this change, introduced on 10 April this year.

I am pleased to say that most of my experiences have been positive. The performer has launched his show for 100 or 200 less than his target. Everyone gets the show they want, and they are grateful to the performer. No-one has to wait for another pledge period.

I have had a couple of experiences that weren't so good. None that merited a complaint in open chat, an Inbox message to the performer, a negative bio page review or a complaint to VS.

As this is an "experiences" topic, where members and performers are invited to share their experiences, here are one or two that might be of interest:

Cum Show A: 20 minutes
Target: 950
Pledges: 350
Pledgers: 3

Performer delivered show exactly as promised. Didn't ask for tips during the show. He did say afterwards that he would appreciate tips and power boosts (which I did)

Cum Show B: 20 minutes
Target: 1200
Pledges: 200
Pledgers: 1

Same performer as A. I was the only one who pledged. To my surprise the performer gave me the full 20 minute show for just 200 credits. I gave him tips and power boosts afterwards. We also did a pvt show a couple of days later

Cum Show C: 10 minutes
Target: 700
Pledges: 200
Pledgers: 4

Performer did naked and hard cock show, then said "tip me 500 if you want to see me cum". No-one did, but no-one complained. We had each given 50 and were pretty happy with the 10 minutes we saw.

Cum Show D: 5 minutes
Target: 400
Pledges: 100
Pledgers: 1

I pledged 50 and then another 50 (when asking others to pledge too - the usual "Cmon guys"). Performer said; "no-one else here". He lay down as if he was going to sleep, so I left just before the end of the pledge period. A few minutes later I spotted that I hadn't got my 100 back. I visited the performer, who was in the last minute of his Group Chat. He was doing his show without me or anyone else in his room!

Jerking Show: 5 minutes
Target: 200
Pledges: 50
Pledgers: 1

I was the only pledger, and the performer went ahead for just 50. The stroking was just blurry, and I couldn't see the performer's face. He said he would do a cum shot for a 50 tip but I wasn't really interested. As was said earlier in this topic, it is a turn-on when performers flirt and tease but can be a turn-off when they seem desperate. It was a bit awkward. With hindsight, I might have been more understanding.

I had the same experience as your example "D". I was the only one who pledged, so I left with 20 seconds on the clock for pledging. To my surprise I found that the perfomer accepted the pledge after I left his room! Now I know better!!

The VS post which I quoted at post #135 referred to giving performers more choice. The standard answer in many topics here is that the performer decides how he runs his own room.

Being made to go ahead with a Group Chat with only 50 pledged does not seem sensible or defensible :twocents

Splitting the amount between even as few as two members makes the group chat a better deal than the 15 minute private.... and I like to, at least, try to accommodate requests in group chat. I have really enjoyed some of my groups where there is a handful of regulars / VIP / nice customers ;) I have seen 15 minute group chat go for 2500.... split between 4 people, everyone gets a show for less than private....
