I know this is a sensitive topic, but anyway:

I think that many forecast-pics don`t show the real model, at least not the reality, which is only one click further.
I�m still a rookie at f4f and I do have favorites already of course, but I think it`s for both sides not enjoyable, if you enter a models room because of the forecast to realize, it`s not what`s been advertised. I enter the room, often get welcomed, and leave, because it just doesn`t "click".
This makes me feeling being a bit unpolite, which is of course not intended, and I think for the model this is also not very satisfiing.
So am I completly off here?

Completely agree, bisport.

I usually look at the model's bio page before visiting his chat room (and read the reviews). Sometimes I look at a preview from a recent VOD so that I know what to expect before visiting. Can avoid some awkwardness.

I can see where this is important, especially for models like me who (due to circumstances beyond control) leave for an extensive amount of time then come back. Current pics are a must. alot can change in a few months in fact I gained 30 pounds in 6 months and came back, (140 to weighing 170) Stupid me didnt upload a recent pic and got slaughtered for it, people were like: "youre fat" then I realized I needed to upload a recent one. Lesson learned, WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN

I agree. I think current home page pics are important. Why advertise something you are not? We are all critical of pics of ourselves but in this business up to date pics are important to me. :twocents

I have to say that I have also gone in performers chat rooms only to be suprised that the performer does not look like the picture. I went into a performers room once and I & some others noticed the performer didn't look like his picture. He became very upset because he thought we were commenting about his weight gain. Actualy, we were noticing that he shaved all his facial hair off. It had nothing to do with his weight. Yes, growing or shaving facial hair does change your apearance

I am in total agreement with all of you, Posting a picture of someone you would "like" to look like but are not is deception in my eyes, as well is posting pictures of yourself from when you were 20 and are now 40 same difference. In any case, I try to always keep my pictures current, I will not delete my old ones but it is not difficult to follow the pictures to the newest ones. That being said, hopefully others will also catch on. :winkwink

Following up the discussion, I have one add:

Taking up Phils and Ronnies advice I actually found a few models, who definitly look better on cam than in their bios, so I recommend an update for the complete reverse reason as mentioned above.

Good point, bisport.

Although you would think that all models would be tempted to include the more flattering pics in their bios, I agree that there are some models who have poor bio pics that don't do them justice. Can't understand this, as bio pics are so important.

When I see this I will usually mention it to the model. They don't usually mind being told that they look even better than their bio pics.

One model uses an artfully cropped picture of Kellan Lutz for his bio pic. There's not a huge disparity between the model's torso and Kellan's, but any comparison stops there. The pic draws you in, but only the model himself can make you stay. Deceptive? Yes. Effective? Yes, surprisingly.

If his torso looks so similar, then why not use a picture of his own torso instead of some one elses? "efective? yes"? Well, he must be quite pleased his fraud is so successful. Once again though, if his torso is so similar to Kellans, then why not just use a picture of himself?

The model in question is bulkier than Lutz, but still muscular. There's not a "huge disparity," but I wouldn't mistake one for the other. I know nothing about site rules on this, nor why the model or his studio chose it. I do recognize a thing of beauty when I see it, especially one taken by a world-class photographer, and subjected to top quality post-production prior to publication. No "cellphone in mirror" pic can match that.

Enjoyed a lovely group chat with Robin Dawn last week, and then had a lovely private show later.

I told him that he looked 10 times cuter than his bio pic, but I see he is still using the same one:

I think the best advice to new models (as requested in a current topic by gofish) is to use a good bio pic. There are often 150 other performers on-line at the same time, and the bio pic is the first (and sometimes only) thing that members see.

Even if others think I am wrong about Robin's bio pic, I think it is good for performers to try different ones (*) and see which one works best

(*) all genuine, of course
