Can any one tell me why most of the new models have no audio? I can understand that the models where English is not thier first language may feel uncomfortable speaking it. But it seems like lately most of the new models do not speak. For whatever it's worth, I like to chat with a model before I tip them or take them private. Not watch them type every thing they want to say. So please enlighten me on this subject. "I'm all ears" :winkwink

I've had a few models tell me, "audio in pvt only". Thus, they are using audio as an additional enticement to get the members to go into private chat. In some places, that would be known as a "marketing ploy". :winkwink

Some models, particularly the new guys, are on more than one site simultaneously, making it difficult for them to turn on the audio, because then we become privy to all the sounds and alerts from the other sites. Other models have people in the room with them, and it's usually better for all concerned if we don't hear those conversations. Or maybe they're listening to music or watching tv or their favorite flavor of porn, and decide it's better if they didn't share it.

im totally agree with u , im from colombia but i can speak english not perfect perfect but in 100% i think 80 %

... so many models as me use the audio as a strategy to intrigue the customer and get a pvt ,

And perhaps some models have sufficient english skills one on one, but not enough to keep up with multiple guys all making comments. In some places, that would known as a "strategic allocation of resources." :winkwink

Something else to consider, having audio streaming as well as the video does tax the bandwidth. I notice a lot of from home models when they first start out dont have great upstream. Cutting out the audio portion can really help bring their video quality up a notch.

But I fully understand where you are coming from. It is really hard for me to build any kind of affinity with a model if I cant hear anything, to the point where I dont bother to take them pvt. It doesnt even have to be them speaking, just hearing them breath or laugh or even the sound of the clock ticking behind their head, helps me make a connection that leads to a pvt.

Then again Mr. Erectus, I suspect there are enough customers out there who arent so picky about the audio experience that it doesnt make too much of a difference in their ability to get pvts.

Some models are in studios that do not allow them speak but only in pvt.

I found it more natural to talk to everyone, I can talk faster than I can type, so I could interact with a lot all at once, and greet members as they came in. However, it was a little weird like I was having a conversation with myself, but then someone would chime in with a comment.

Oh and thanks Homo for giving me my first tip on my first time broadcasting!! I think I will do just fine with Usining the audio.

OK OK I'm pretty sure I addressed the issue of models who do not have English as a first language. I completely understand that one, so that is a moot issue.

Deaf ... and other deaf chatters ... i've seen you in several rooms .. and i try to type for you when i can... the models appreciate you visiting their rooms .. just it's difficult when the room is busy, which is when i try to help if i can... please don't stop visiting .. i know it's difficult ... i have 3 deaf guys on here now ..and you are one of them ... us listeners don't really understand .. except i do in a way, when my sound goes bad here after 6pm my time !!

...I know that some models who do talk and notice that after greeting you or other deaf users, will almost always type "can you hear me?". Then the model will procede to type to you while still being able to talk with the others in the room. One model I know will actually use sign language in an effort to make your experience a better one.

I can't speak for everyone else, but for me personally I don't find it necessary to hand out my best assets on a silver platter. It's not like I wouldn't supply a sample for a 5 Credit Tip. :p

If Wal-Mart for example decided tomorrow that they were going to give away everything in their electronic department for free from here on out, would they continue to make money in their store? Sure they would, but they would take a HUGE hit in profits since a huge drawing point of theirs is now free.

Some call it a "strategic marketing ploy", I call it "Knowing and having Self Worth". :D

I have some friends who come to this site who are deaf and I think it's great when the models type so that you and they are part of the chat too. I think that's great :thumbsup

One model I know will actually use sign language in an effort to make your experience a better one.

That is above and beyond!!! Wish I knew who that model was, just so I could tip him for being so considerate.

Paul has tapped into a subject matter that I have been thinking about lately. I am not fond of models having no audio in open chat. Having audio with viewers will help establish a more intimate environment and connection with the model. I have a few models that have no audio in open chat and I have a rapport with them....and they are the exceptions. I have always been inclined to tip or to have a private show when there is audio. There are some pros and cons about this matter. Like Annie, I know of a couple of deaf users and I will always try to type so that they can enjoy their experience to the fullest extent. Models have their reasons when they choose to operate with or without audio and some of those examples were already pointed out here. Ultimately, as long as the model is communicating effectively with the viewers in any manner, will help them in the long haul. :thumbsup
