Don't use it. A personal greeting directly from model to user is the way to go.

i don't say hello when i open the fridge door and the light turns on. the lights automated, it's not happy to see me. same principle.

Does the same apply to personal (usually vocal) greetings from modals? Would you prefer we wait for you to initiate conversation?

that's hard to answer, it depends on the person and the day. i will always answer a direct hello from a model but i have started ignoring some of the auto hellos. for a lot of us on here, we are curious and we are quietly checking out a new guy. like in a bar, you may observe someone before deciding you want to introduce yourself. you don't walk direct into a bar, walk directly toward someone and say hello. Although, maybe we should be that open; like we were when we were younger.

from a models perspective an easy way around it would be to say, "hello guys/room, anyone feel like chatting". or set the auto receptionist to, "welcome to my room, please feel free to say hello".

Ok , i use room receptionist just to say Hello !
And it works. I just had the message : Hello , welcome !
I just wanna hear a suggestion from a member , or from a model who knows better this option.

well the room receptionist is a handy tool, especially for new models who are not yet completely comfortable with the model application and how chat operates, or those who are partially distracted. From a model perspective it is easy and covers a lot of bases.

As a customer who is possessed of (and is simply possessed at times) a huge number of screen names and loves to create new ones in moments of inspiration it becomes an awkward sort of thing. Each change of a name generates a new greeting message and that I think can become even more confusing; and, frankly, I often do not wish to announce my entry to large numbers of lurking or chatting customers. My presence in a chat frequently suppresses other chatter's participation and god knows given a few moments I can accomplish that all on my own (sigh) *eyeroll*
