Whenever I have a VIP member in my room I try and say Hi - to ensure they get their value for their monthly subscription.

The moment I say Hi they leave. If I ignore them then they stay! If I am feeling in a funny mood I play games to see how quickly they leave once I start to interact with them and it virtually always is before 3 seconds.

Whether VIP or not, you will always have members who appear, then disappear a few seconds later. Don't worry if they disappear quickly; it could be they were aiming for another room (no offense intended), only the system updated and the thumbnails shifted just as they clicked. It could also be that they entered into your room then exited to read your full profile. It could be that they prefer to "lurk" until they get a better feel for you and how you run your room, and are a little embarrassed to be called out.

As much as some members dislike the auto-greet as it is so impersonal, in this case it could be useful to greet these reluctant-to-be-acknowledged members (VIP and non-VIP), and may encourage some of them to greet you in response. Then you can greet them directly, and hopefully make others more comfortable and willing to speak up and talk to you in your room.

All i can say is that I have tried playing games with all members and it seems to help the room flow a bit. When i say games I mean I like to be funny and have a personality. I have tried calling out members and I have tried not calling out members. I have noticed that not calling out members seem to work better.
It may just be me, but some people like to have a conversation and see your are not just a lunk head before they start to tip or interact with you. Keep in mind, I do use the auto greeter and if for some reason I don't get a hello I do talk a lot and eventually I will, after a few minutes say how are you and welcome to my room or hows the weather. Something stupid like that is a great ice breaker and may get the conversation going.
I'm not sure if I'm just rambling or not so I will stop talking now.

Robert I think zyxwv098 hit the nail on the head with his comment. Yes VIPs have perks, but at the same time they are just members like all other members. By the way one can actually read a model's BIO without entering his/her chat room when they are online.
While there are some very nice VIPs out there I must admit there are a few cocky ones as well who when showing up in YELLOW really stand out. A few VIPs fail to realize that with excess whispering a model's chat room just might end up turning those mere member off. It disrupts the flow of the conversation, and for those members who don't know what whispering is they are sure to wonder what are you talking about anyway.
So best to treat VIPs as mere members like all others and hopefully it will get some of them down off that perch of theirs and get them to join in on the CHAT.
