Hey I do get what you mean like gee the tattoo is on the wrong side. Then makes you wonder what else just might not be what it seems. Gimmicks like that can be something of a turn off when that is the one thing your eye seems to home in on. Point well taken

The models in some studios reverse the video, by which I mean they present to the viewer a mirror image in which the right appears to be the left and vice versa. Normally it would make no difference if a model wanking with his right hand appeared to be using his left. The side of the scalp where the hair is parted is immaterial. It's a minor annoyance, however, when a the lettering on a model's T-shirt must be read backwards to be read at all. Background lettering is also reversed so that London, for example, begins with a backwards n and ends with a backwards L. The only substantive criticism I can think of is that the digital reversal potentially moves the viewer one step father from the illusion of a face-to-face encounter with the model. It's a minor distraction that I mention only because of curiosity, a cat-slaying trait. Could someone explain why studios and models would do this?

Perhaps initially it was done so that models could wear clothing with logos or words on them without "advertising" or promoting a brand. Now it may be done as an additional layer of privacy and security. If members are used to seeing a tattoo on the left arm of the model via the reversed image, recognizing the model's face but seeing that tattoo on the wrong arm may help preserve anonymity.

I think that it is simply silly models or silly managers do base setting - as the mirror image

I agree that normal video is best, with everything reading and looking correct.

However, the performers monitor what the members are seeing. The reverse video might make it more like looking in a mirror. Easier to make webcam adjustments. That might explain why some performers do it... :winkwink

You are correct, ronnie-uk. Many models find it is simply easier to work with a mirrored image of themselves on the screen for positioning and framing shots (we have a preview window). We are all used to looking at ourselves in mirrors, so when we see a reversed image (how the rest of the world sees us) it can be strange at first. Learning to move left when you want the on-screen you to move right just takes a little practice, and it does look better than a mirrored image in my opinion. :twocents

I usually have my video settings on a mirror image. That's because on the default setting if I move to the right, the display image moves to the left. But if it's a mirror image it moves in the same direction I move, making it easier to center myself and provide the best angles.

However, I must admit I'm rarely wearing any clothes. Maybe undies, leather, or a jock.
